After a morning full of lackluster bites, mediocre conversations with degenerate folks, and diminishing hope in accomplishing anything this day.. ‪@RiverCertified‬, ‪@GoodLifeOutdoorsman‬, and I made one more stop. At first glance this MASSIVE SPILLWAY was lower and crustier than we have ever seen it, but its holes were exposed. So we penetrated them. PAAA POWWW!!!

Last time I fished a spillway that dry I caught every species in there with a 2" storm minnow, one of my favorite creek baits. And then a mirror carp on a real mulberry. Fun day

The great Tony Gwynn passed away from mouth cancer, that was the day I quit both chewing and smoking. It wasn't easy but once you get passed the first week it gradually gets easier. Good luck!

I live in KC fall and winter. Central Washington spring and summer. I fish about 5 days a week in year round. Out here below Wanapum dam on the Colombia River it's king salmon and Sockeye salmon season. Long walk out on riprap using railroad spikes for weights. Bank fishing called " plunking" and lure fishing and flossing. It's a while nother world out here from the central U.S. 2 kings and 4 Sockeye is the limit per day. Very difficult !

That flathead one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful flathead I've ever seen. Gorgeous fish. Flathead are about my most favorite fish to catch rite next to a big cold water river smallmouth. Awesome catch and yes jealous as hell. Done made my mind up , I'm going fishing today. Thanks to you and that fathead.

Caught my PB-tie smallmouth (19") on topwater 7/1! On the fly rod (rod and popper made by ME). Best part, three guys were wading upstream (rarely see anybody on my creek) right when I made the 40' hero cast and he CRUSHED it!!!!
