When I lived in far west Texas...we would go get our poles wet in southern New Mexico below a big dam. Great for Blue Catfish, plain old' Carp, and White Bass. What was unusual is there were always some older Hispanic men who would trade us 1 for 1...Carp for the White Bass. The White Bass are pretty decent eating!!

Just barely missed the state record for channel last Friday. I might catch a bigger one, maybe even a record, but I will probably never catch a fish so perfect in size, color and body shape. @@k.robatasio9471 I live about 75 north of NY City near Poughkeepsie and New Paltz and finding a fishing hole or river access is very difficult. The most accessible places are basically fished out or the fish know better. Otherwise some travel is required so a planned trip is the best way...Thanks for the response. I suppose if your a well known KZbinr its a bit easier to get permission?
