THE CRAZIEST CAR ON THE INTERNET - 3000BHP TWIN ENGINE VW LUPO

The DOP Motorsport VW Lupo was at the RoDrag Racing event in Romania for its first full test passes. With it's twin 3.6L, compound turbo VR6 engines, tuned so far to 1500bhp each, the owner, Silviu, was looking to test on just the lowest settings of 600 to 700bhp per engine, or 1200 to 1400bhp in total.
And what a successful Weekend run it was, with several 8 second passes, and a best run of 8.10 at 289kph (179mph)

@TBone-c6f All I know is if it just produced 700bhp, it would not run a trap speed of 160mph. To hit 179mph you do need 1300+bhp, so I would say they are combining power. As always, I am happy to be proven wrong.

Think of it as a v12 engine split in half. One half makes 1500hp and the other half .makes 1500hp

@ventodanny I did interview Silviu afterwards, but couldn't add the footage, as we got interrupted. He said 1st and 2nd gear spins the wheels, 3rd gear pulled like hell, and then 4th and 5th spun again, due to no grip on that part of the track. So yes, fully prepped track definitely in the 7s (and just on this power as well).

@@VeeDubRacing car il tracte plus car 1500bhp sur chaque train :) , son montage est très ingénieux , il y a eu une golf qui avait fait de même avec deux moteur de 900 cv il avait gagné pleins de records :) sur un banc de puissance il sortirait 1500BHP pour chaque essieux . because it tows more because 1500bhp on each axle :), its assembly is very ingenious, there was a golf which had done the same with two 900 hp engines it had won lots of records :) on a power bench it would come out 1500BHP

@@DAV4WSR1 I do not know the science behind determining overall power of two engines, each delivering power to different sets of wheels. All I would say, is the trap speed is about right. Maybe it could be done with 1200 to 1300bhp, but then I think on a better track, it would have gone even faster, maybe 190mph+ (305kph)

It doesn't use all the power, in the video it says the lowest power it can use is 600-700 hp on 1 engine, the engines develop at maximum power about 3600 hp from what Ghita the driver says, but he doesn't use this power here

Jun2 no wheelie bar straight car couldn't imagine the time it'll do with a wheelie bar he could probably use full power too this car virtually has 6 wheels on tracks and he still can't use more power...😒 🤔 😒 🤔 😒 🤔

In all honesty it is a crazy build but for twin motor the times are not good if you consider the all wheel drive 4cylinder honda's make less power but has got better times. Maybe he must just keep one engine
