You’d be hard pressed to find someone with as much dynamic control, melodic ability, and feel behind the kit as Carter. Magnificent as always.

the title craziest is really misleading as it is a thoughtful, conversational piece…..unlike the wild drum solos….

This is what musicianship's all about... Make your drums talk and resonate musically in the best way possible. That's why Bernard Purdie always talks about the importance of it for the young generation, sometimes is not about how technically good you are, but how profound your drums touch the people's souls like Carter made with this video.

Love the click bait title. It is CRAZY!!!!! because it's tasteful and has chops while not losing musicality. Time, dynamics, musical ideas, tension/release.... chops come last in the list of what makes a great solo. Great job, as usual, Carter.

Returning to drumming after a long hiatus (marriage, children, work etc.) I have one word for what Mr McLean has done here: SUBLIME... In a few more words: It's like listening in to the musical, rhythmical equivalent of a conversation between two dearest friends, reminiscing and enthusiastically exploring new ideas together in a spirit of mutual respect. Genius. And inspiring.

I wouldn't call this a crazy solo by any stretch of the imagination. What you have excellently demonstrated here in my opinion is an exploration of the instrument . Searching for tones and grooves not normally done these days. Ian paice stated on 1 of his Drumtribe videos is that when soloing If your going fast and hard you have nowhere else to go. You need to soften things to give your performance some style. This was a good example of having a feel for your instrument and playing. Well done. Great musicianship.
