Why in the world is Charlie constantly screaming? I never understood it. I had some live stuff of his and youd always here a guy yelling stuff in the recording...here it was Charlie. LOL

Amazing! What drumheads are you using?
@jrhhandle3 күн бұрын
A pool noodle stuffed inside the cowbell works well to mute the overtones while still being mounted. You an chooses how much or how little you use depending on how much dampening you are looking for.

First off congratulations on obtaining such an amazing amazing drum set. Everything sounds absolutely divine, but I cannot get over how heavenly that snare sounds. I’m a snare geek and that thing sounds amazing. If I had that drum, I probably wouldn’t eat sleep or go to work because I would be playing that drum 24/7

I was a never Ludwig guy, but I’m getting a CM. I think they have the most distinctive sound and it’s brilliant. It’s chocolate pudding. I just have to go with my ears. Ludwig it is. They won me over.

Maan. I just learnt a lot from watching this. Transcribing the fills is a master class in applied sticking patterns. Like the paradiddle with a stutter (RLRRL_RLLRLLRLRR) for the fill into the chorus or the single paradiddle and an inward paradiddle's lovechild (RLRRLRRL) for the more dense tom phrase. Rudiments are cool, kids. Also makes me want to try a floor tom on the left. But the best part is you've made it feel like your own while really honouring quite a lot of the original sequenced drum part. Very cool. Thanks for sharing!

The Idris, the 30th Ann. 22", and the 23" Signature. Oh and the 26 30th Anniversary - how cool and smoky, but low pitched for sitting underneath the bass. This company is crackling with good cymbals. I don't think anyone else has cracked the code quite like they have.

I know this is a couple years old, but I just came across it while researching these pres - awesome demo, thank you! I also have some BAE preamp/eq’s - how would you say these stack up to those? I’m wanting to build up my rig to be able to have Neve style pre/eqs on every channel, but the BAE’s are too expensive to pull this off. Definitely willing to get some of these if they’re in the same ballpark sonically

Carter, I really enjoyed your effortless & casual play around your kit. It was refreshing on both of the videos I watched, in lieu of someone just bashing the hell out of there drums and playing as fast as they can. I really liked the tone of your drums, they sounded really good. Also could you tell me the ply of the batter & resonant heads and if you use Drum Dial and what settings you use ? Also would you tell me the size and type of the cymbal right next to the high-hat cymbal. Thanks!🥁

when i was young, i remember my dad telling me that his favorite guitar player was mark knopfler. it was the hair-band 80s, and i thought he was crazy when there were players like evh and vai. i just figured old dudes must not realize things were changing. watching and hearing carter do his thing makes me realize where he was coming from.

Carter, man, I needed that this morning. So many great ideas, again, expressed brilliantly. I've come to the conclusion that you are one of maybe 10 drummers in the world today that I could identify by their sound/style alone. Like, oh shirt, that's Carter's voice. There are several signature licks that I now associate with you as well and they always seem to come out in different subdivisions and stickings; seemingly, based on what you're feeling at the moment. One that I absolutely love is the HH > snare sweep (L) and the FT > snare sweep (R) with the bass drum doubles in between. This seems to come out in the most unexpected of times like a rhythmic non sequitur. It's like a car driving down the road, shifting really smooth in and out of gears, and then you hit 5 or 6 speed bumps with a load of frogs ribbiting in the trunk. Good stuff. ;)
