Actually, "Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans" is just the track "sans." sped up. There is a theory that "Megalovania" is actually Frisk's theme on the genocide run. A *megalomaniac* is someone with an obsessive need for power, so that already makes sense. Then, there is the belief that Sans starts the fight. On the genocide run, YOU start the fight with everyone else. The text box appears over your head with the smiley face in it. HOWEVER, before you fight Sans, the box doesn't appear over your head. He has the first attack, and he can one-shot you if you spare him. These are normally features that you have, as you are the one starting the fight. When you start the fight, the OTHER person's song plays. Since Sans starts the fight with you, YOUR theme plays: "Megalovania". Sans' fight theme *is* "STMPWYFS". If you started the fight on the genocide run, "STMPWYFS" would play, not "Megalovania".

Dat Huynh - Remember, this is a *theory*. What I said was purely *theoretical*. Because "Megalovania" appears to be the player's theme, then what is Sans' theme? It makes sense that Sans' theme would be "STMPWYFS", even though it doesn't appear in the game. Remember, Sans doesn't fight you in the pacifist run. He only fights you on Genocide. Because you never get the chance to initiate the fight with Sans in the game, his theme, "STMPWYFS", is never played in the game.

For Ness: It's not Ness, everyone knows this. Steven Universe: The video was a prank, the video creator even said. Human in disguise: Sans is someone who enjoys pranks, and loves ketchup. He can spill his drink on purpose, or it's just a design error, and stabbing him in no-mercy can just be ketchup. Gaster: Gaster's design has been confirmed (I guess), because his steam card shows "mystery man", so if he actually is mystery man and has a rare chance to appear in game, then he can't be sans.

Small correction: Tales of Phantasia did singing better about a year before Final Fantasy 6 came out. Not only was it better, it was an actual singer's voice you could hear rather than a voice you might find on a synthesizer. The method to do this was eventually reverse engineered and there now exists an english translation that dubs the game replacing the japanese singing with english lyrics.

I somehow think it's not strange to say that Megalovania is NOT Sans' theme, nor is it Chara's. I think it is YOUR theme. Maybe not Frisk's, but yours; the player. Megalovania, to me, shows a mood of being in the vicinity of danger. Sure, I'd understand that it fits Sans' theme of being a small, agile, and quite hard boss, but YOU, the player, is most capable of making choices and resetting. Everyone else in the actual game is at least partially... stuck... to following a sequence of code- even Sans and Flowey. Take it like this: Sans is characterized as a skeleton who is aware of this timeline-jumping thing. He isn't stupid, but does it look like the game allows him to do anything about it? If Sans was a real person, he would have probably used different attack patterns for every next battle with him. You, however, have the choice to do things- to move up, to move down, to move one room back after after talking to Papyrus, The Snowdin Merchant, Inkeeper, and some citizens in a specific order, and to quit and reset after any time. As Tori said, she was protecting the other people from *you*, you're the real danger out loose. Even if you're sparing everyone you encounter, you still have the full potential to -SPIN AROUND LIKE CRAZY IN FRONT OF PAPYRUS- reset, true.... reset.

Like, there's Enemy Approaching in a regular playthrough, Stronger Monsters in Hard Mode, would it make sense (make sans, XD) that Megalovania would be your fight theme in a Genocide playthrough?

Oh yeah, I'd also like to add that the title of the song is presumably a play on the words "LOVE" and "Megalomaniac". According to the Oxford Dictionary, someone who is a megalomaniac has an obsession over gaining power. That sounds a lot like you playing the Genocide playthrough. LOVE, according to Sans, is a variable that shows the amount of power you hold from homicidal acts. I can interpret from both definitions and assume that a Megalovaniac is one who desires to gain more power through LOVE. This is, again, another conspicuous description of you, therefore goes my point of the song named Megalovania belonging to the one who has the potential to be one.

Let me just say that the reason that the opera scene was so famous was because of how hilarious the events leading up to it were. There was an octopus trying to drop a 2 ton weight on the lead character, there was a love interest who walked in on Celes in the changing room, an extremely paranoid money hungry opera director, and a man named Setzer who was going to make a dramatic entrance and steal the lead actress. The lead actress was supposed to be Maria, but they switched it out for Celes in order to get onto the airship that Setzer had. Not to mention that Celes had no say in this, but secretly she always wanted to be in an opera. She's been trained from a young age in war, so she feels really embarrassed doing this, and all if this only scratches the surface of why this scene was so exiting.

'Song that might play when you fight Sans' doesnt play not because of planned and cut moment, or not to bait player into thinking about coming bossfight. It does not play because you never fight Sans. 'Oh, but what about genocide run', you'd say confused, and I will tell you: That, my friend, is a moment in the game where Sans fights YOU and NOT the other way around. He attacks first, and so, he initiates HIS fight with YOU. Megalovania is representing the player, since the word 'megalomania' that was combined with 'transylvania' means 'delusion about one's own power or importance'. Does Sans have any of this? Not qiute. Player that reached almost maximum level of power in the underground does. And thus, Megalovania, even though tied to a boss battle, doesnt represent the boss in usual gaming sense. It represents Sans' last stand in the literal bossbattle against Frisk. Sans is never a boss in UT. It just seems like this.

Megalo strikes back is used in a fangame called "Disbelief Papyrus" where you meet and fight Papyrus instead of Sans and instead of fighting Papyrus in Snowdin you fight Sans. The reason is: there had been hundreds of resets and Sans hated to see all of his friends die. Also all of these "resets" were genocide routes.

Actually, Mus_star wasn't used because of audio issues. It was originally purposed for when Madjick's orbs became green. because the CORE music is used within battles too, it was scrapped.

Song that migth play when you fight Sans is actually the track sans sped up really fast and given a little bonetrousle-like part, so it is a lite motive. Anyways it is probably a gag put there by toby fox.

Did you know Star was actually meant to be for if you stay in a fight with Madjick for a certain amount of time, but it collided with the battle theme so it was removed.

Actually, the MELODY from MEGALOVANIA was from Megalovania in the Earthbound hack. The MEGALOVANIA in Undertale is just a well done styling of that.
