The current version of "Undertale" was a motif-remix-thing combining the song from the story you see when you first open the game and His Theme which you can hear by giving the statue an umbrella. It made it feel like your journey came full circle, like you were nearing the end, like everything was about to come together and fall into place, and paired with that story I wouldn't have been surprised if you seriously started bawling. It almost made me cry too.

I have a theory that Grampa Semi is the river person,for evidence-he has knowledge of Gaster (`beware the man who speaks in hands’ and ‘beware the man from the other world’) he also has knowledge about flowey (`humans,monsters,flowers’),he has a connection to the annoying dog (his boat occasionally resembles it when it flys) and Papyrus also seems to have a connection with the annoying dog (albeit a negative one) also river person always goes the same direction,and always takes the same amount of time (teleportation perhaps?),also the boat can fly and Papyrus can fly.

At one point,if you get lucky and can go through the specific route needed (Fun values and all that), Papyrus ends up saying “Is Sans pranking you through space and time? I hate it when he does that". This proves Papyrus is aware of the resets just as much as Sans,he's just a lot more optimistic. Given that,I wouldn't be surprised if he did know about Gaster
