This might not be a popular thing to say but Dan Reeves was a pretty good coach for a long time. Never won the big one but he went there 4 times & won a lot of games.

Later that year Reeves tried to compensate for Elway’s injury by having Shawn Moore and Tommy Maddox alternate plays in a loss in Buffalo. Reeves’ old boss, Tom Landry, tried that with Craig Morton and Roger Staubach in Chicago in 1971. The Cowboys lost to the Bears that day. Landry went with Staubach the rest of the year, and the Cowboys won Super Bowl 6.

I remember that. It was a gimmick, but it worked at first to a degree. They moved the ball and almost upset the Cowboys who went on to win the SB that year. Then it kind of fell apart. Reeves was always good for a gimmick every week.

Denver was 5-3, but they could have been worse. 3 of those 5 wins required Elway 4th quarter heroics. Specifically, KC and Houston and the Raiders.

Dan Reeves almost ruined Elway's career. I'll never forgive him for that.

I would have loved it if Dan Reaves had. I'm a Cowboy fan, and I'll always be a Dan Reaves fan too. If Elway wasn't such an ass of a human being, but He's a lousy boss to his restaurant and dealership employees, and that sux.
