ID4Motion need to address the main issue and that is that you can't code or clear warning lights with their cluster, so if you have say an airbag light you have to put the factory cluster back in to clear the light, then re-install the digital cluster. That is a major oversight on their part.

I have this on my E93 and it does have accessory mode - it comes on as soon as you put the keys in. Also, it does have the shift lights, as well as what gears you’re in, you have to enable this in the settings menu - my car is automatic though so not sure if that’s a factor

I never mentioned it not having shift lights. I even had a section showing how to program those. As far as the gears, They’re saying it looks I received a manual unit instead of an automatic.

Nice vid. I've had mine for a few months, and there are several things that bother me which I think they need to upgrade. First, the numbers of things like remaining fuel, time/date and temperature are too small. They are hard to see, and there's a lot of space on the gauge. So they need to include a setting to change the size of those numbers. They would look a lot more modern and better if they were bigger. Second, I think that the menu doesn't move very well with the BC button and scroll wheel. Many times I have to hit the buttons twice or three times to get the menu to move. But with my stock cluster in, it works perfectly fine, so it's not my BC stalk. Lastly, when I installed mine, I had just put a new battery in my car a few months earlier, and it knocked the registration of that battery out of my ecu. And when I connected my K-Dcan cable to recode it, Inpa would not work. Inpa is BMW's software to code anything in your car. So that's the biggest one for me right now. Also, If they are going to charge so much for a race mode, it should look a lot better than that one, which has nothing desirable about it. They need to make it look like the Lambo guages with all the colors and functions. That race gauge is just plain and ugly. Lastly, I've never understood the gear thing. In the beginning it showed what gear you were in IF and ONLY IF you had a dct. Why would it not show what gear you're in with a manual 6 speed? Isn't also important for a full manual? Some of the thinking is really convoluted, and doesn't make much sense. Other than those things, it looks really nice, and works decently in the other respects.

Definitely some valuable feedback! I’ll have to see how much of those things bug me over time, and what problems end up having. It’s an amazing cluster, but little things do add up.

I bought this dashboard in August. I very much agree with you. Seriously, I kind of want to abandon him because the wrong problems cannot be solved. These problems have already affected my driving.

@@Brian-jv8iy Neither one works with this cluster. No matter whether it's just you, or the dealership. This is the worst thing about this cluster. If you want to code anything into this cluster, either by yourself, or at the dealership, you have to put the stock cluster back in. That is really a horrible drawback of this gauge cluster. And now they are having problems for it to even keep accurate time. There are several problems that are starting to show, and considering the price of these things, this should NOT be tolerated by the customers. I am talking to them right now, trying to get a proper firmware update, just to get it to keep accurate time.

It is a impressive mod despite the lagginess, in my opinion. BUT is a tad expensive. Max i would go for a cluster, even with this quality, would be around 500€$. The original has that vintage flavour and this one doesnt have enough boom to make me flip it for 1000€$ (for the basic version).

I like it, I would get it for my M3. However, I see a problem with the mileage being off if I ever went back as well as cutting the air duct. I’m a huge ac fan. So if I cut it wrong I’d be not so happy. I know there’s a template. I think I’d just shove it in there with no cutting. But I’m curious, it has a boost gauge? I think analog with the skins on the oem tach would be better for me. This seems like maybe in a few updates down the road I’d look into it.

You can always just have the mileage corrected by BMW/an experienced BMW coder.

Mileage is not stored on the cluster on the e92 m3. So this does not affect mileage

F80 m3 steering wheel diameter is bigger then the E92. My though the E92 steering whee is a good size

i just bought one for my x5 and nothing but trouble speed gadge doesnt stop going up and down the fuel gadge its not acurate theres no milage on the cluster from my car it even doesnt come packed like that as i bought one last moth ive been trying to speak with id4motion and they been ignoring my emails .... i did update the cluster and same issues to be honest its just troubles and it doesnt worth the money u pay for it , i advice to dont spend money on it

Like you said, it’s really cool, but some of the existing errors are troublesome to me. The most serious is the abnormal fuel gauge. I have updated the software 3 times, but I found that the problem has not been solved, and it is still There will be new problems.

Yes you’re basically just modifying the piping, and then blocking off the hole you cut. You’re not actually blocking the ac.

Thanks for the objective review. Many people are only talking about the good things. It's good to know that there's a little lag, manual mode is not displayed clearly, etc. Still think this is a little overpriced. I'm kind of ok with the unit itself being around $1k. But not ok with an extra $500 for the skins. Those are just color-changing stuff. Some different graphics and animation. Doesn't worth half of the price of the unit.

Looks like an android tablet glued on to the cluster and not as refined as the newer BMW digital clusters. Much prefer the stock cluster for the e92 m3.

I believe the milage is displayed but a could be wrong, and it’s also worth noting that mileage is not stored in the cluster of E9X BMWs, therefore your mileage won’t be tampered by installing this gauge

@driving coby Hi i have just installed this on my 2012 e92 m3, and i have found if you have the key in accessorie mode the cluster will come on after about 10 - 15 seconds, i have tryed this a number of times and it works every time, hope this helps.

Duh, of course it will. What he’s talking about is RAP retained accessory power. Meaning the car will stay powered on for 10-15mins after ignition is shut off and key taken out…

I’d love it but it’s just too expensive for me. I swapped my idrive for an android unit and have my JB4 and MHD apps on it to get real time gauges and logs and that cost around £300. If this was around £300-£500 I’d consider it.
