You know, people say that God doesn’t care about sports. And that assertion isn’t wrong. But God *does* care about what His children care about. If it’s important to you, it’s important to Him. Certainly a career trajectory in a person’s life is pretty important. As a person of faith, I think this story is remarkable not just because Foles helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl after almost retiring, because it illustrates that God was aware of Nick and wanted to help him pursue something important to him and his family. Sometimes, the knowledge that God is aware of you and your troubles is enough to get you through it. Great video, JG! And thanks to the patron who requested it. Heartwarming and faith-promoting stories are awesome!

As a Rams fan, I was actually devastated when Bradford was traded away for Foles. However the one season he was the starter I have weird fond memories of. Maybe it's because it was the last season of the St Louis Rams, but I just knew Foles was a good QB. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

This unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about how Earl Morrall retired, then unretired before the 1969 season. Fun Fact: Foles started his college playing days at Michigan State, where Morrall went.

As a Die Hard Eagles fan who was a big fan of Nick Foles in his 1st sting with the Eagles i am very happy he did not retire. He dealt with a lot of BS in St. Louis. A back up in KC and then a Backup turned Super Bowl MVP in Philly

That team, was, on borrowed time when, TGSOT, only, won, one, SB, and, it would have been zero had Kevin Dyson, not, turned, for, the football too, early, no doubt.
I'll say this for Big Pecker Nicholas Foles: How many among us in ANY field (medicine, politics, music), had their greatest performance on the highest stage, when anything less than perfection would have resulted in failure? Were he merely great in that Super Bowl, they lose by seven or 10 points. I kept waiting for him to cool off. He would drop back and you are thinking, this is picked, this is the end. He was spreading the ball, dropping dimes to receivers, and then led a drive to take the lead late, and avoided that key mistake. One mistake, and Brady wins that game. It's the greatest single unexpected performance in history.
@matthewdaley746 Жыл бұрын
Actually, perfection, nearly, wasn't, enough, anyway, if Tom Brady, wasn't, too pigheaded to take the sack, it's, yet, another, Game he, wins, despite, being majorly outplayed.

@@matthewdaley746 It really was interesting to watch because all of you were like me, thinking Foles will make a mistake and end this. I can't think of anyone else in sports who HAD to be great, and actually balled-out.

Hey I'm a lifelong Eagles fan & I've got nothing but good feelings for Nick Foles. If you want to know what his teammates thought of him look up what Chris Long thinks about him. He wasn't alone. The defense made a shrine to him during the playoffs that year & said they knew if they did there job Nick would get them there.

All it took for NFL history to eventually change was 2 Corinthians 12:9? I respect Foles for finding inspiration to keep playing football and achieve the fame he achieved with his play in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. NFL history would look a lot different without him. Who else would step in for Carson Wentz after he tore his ACL in a road win against the Rams?

Jeff Fisher is truly one of the worst head coaches to ever coach the game. All I ever hear is about how players are ready to hang it up forever after playing for him. Even Eddie George didn't like him. Also imagine having Case Keenum and Nick Foles as your QBs and throwing them away just to see them take the field leading their teams against each other in the NFC Championship game not long after.
