The front office finally surrounded Cade, their franchise player, with an NBA roster lol
@futurehofer156421 күн бұрын
Lots of players were there already: Jalen Duren, Jaden Ivey, Amen Thompson, Isaiah Stewart All they did was get some shooters and a good coach. They did a good job drafting players all these years.
@KH-ou4st21 күн бұрын
@@futurehofer1564I agree with what you’re saying except for the drafting bc it can be a hit or miss at times. They are so lucky to even have Cade Cunningham, otherwise the pistons will still be a poverty franchise, idk why they keep drafting players who can’t shoot, Stanley Johnson, Sekou Dembouya, Killian Hayes, Ausar Thompson, and now Ron Holland. But other than that, they’re definitely doing better this year after a horrendous season last year
@dontaerogers268721 күн бұрын
The roster barely changed, yall was just too busy bullying them last year to realize that.
@TerribleTake21 күн бұрын
@@KH-ou4stAusar and Ron do not belong in that list yeah they can shoot but they are significantly better defenders and athletes and Ausar specifically is a good playmaker as well definitely a great pick
@UnbeatableJacob21 күн бұрын
@@dontaerogers2687that’s just false though. All of Beasley, Tobias, Hardaway, and Holland are main rotation guys who were not on the team last year. Fontecchio was added at the deadline last year after the really bad stretch. Paul Reed has chipped in at times. Those guys replaced minutes going to James Wiseman, Killian Hayes, Kevin Knox, Isiah Livers, and Marvin Bagley. That’s a big difference.

J.B. Did the same thing with the Cavs too. He just couldn’t take the team to the next level. Overall, he’s a solid coach.
@maximillianschauer143921 күн бұрын
Jb a developmental coach, a coach you get for this kind of team. Not a coach for the finals or deep playoff as he's not an xs and os type coach. Not knocking him. Just is what it is. He should get more credit for how he helped rebuild Cleveland.

As a pistons fan I think context is necessary. Last year we weren't as bad as we looked to be, morale was cooked because of having an ass coach, and ass front office messing up everything This team rn is way too reliant on Cade because Ivey went down hell even when Ivey was playing for a bit because Ivey can't playmake that well, I would look a lot more highly of the pistons this season if Cole Anthony didn't dive into his legs though. The role guys are legit great from vets to beef stew and Ausar locking it down, ron holland not looking too bad either, but unfortunate that they had to draft him and not another stud in 2025. but no other ball handlers is really bad, and like I said having holland instead of a top 5 2025 guy could bite hard even though holland isn't bad. With a good amount of cap in a cba chocked nba that is the one saving grace for the future

I kinda feel like monty williams just didn’t give a shit at all last year in detroit and didn’t even try to coach up or work with these players as if it was beneath him or something. Look at how much better jaden ivy was this year before he got hurt too

I don’t think we need to make any crazy trades at the deadline. Yeah we don’t have a #2 but THJ & Beasley keep stepping up and Tobias is consistently okay. Ausar needs to develop an offensive bag other than cutting but my god is he a defensive freak. Same thing goes for Stew man he has been useless offensively but his defense has been insane. Holland has been fun as a finisher, other than that he’s a work in progress. Tek is ok, need more consistency from him. Sasser doesn’t run the offense as well as he could but there’s potential with him. I agree with your take on Duren, at this pace it will take like another like half a decade to see him become a fully developed player but the flashes are there. Shoutout to Ivey, team would be below 500 if it weren’t for his contributions this season. Can’t wait to see his comeback and most importantly, shoutout Bickerstaff. Good coach
@toniolue72417 күн бұрын
The Pistons if given the right coach last year would’ve had this resurgence then. Monty imo intentionally tried to get fired. He started Killian Hayes over Jaden Ivey and had trash line ups and game plans. Cade was ballin outta his mind but no one cares when your record is that bad. I think all the pieces have finally come together and the Pistons should be Eastern Conference finalist in the next two years.

Craziest turn arounds for me are the Pistons/Spurs/Rockets ( in the right direction) and the GsW/Suns ( in the wrong direction). Last season the Spurs only won 22 games, and currently are sitting at 19. Rockets were elimitated from the playoffs by record last season, but now are 2nd best in the West. GsW is a franchise holding onto the past and too scared to trade Draymond. Suns ruined their franchise by trading for the worst contract in the NBA (Beal).
