Great video and so well told. My Dad spoke of his first car with fondest memories - A 1932 Ford coupe. He fixed it up and babied it and applied a many layer lacquer paint job that was black and as he described, like a pool of deep water. He got an invitation from his Uncle Sam and had to leave it in the care of his younger brother. Mike was a budding mechanic and became the best mechanic I ever met. I worked with him on many engines and swaps. His vision for the Ford was similar to yours would be, he Hot Rodded it. When my Dad returned he gave the now Hot Rod to his brother. Well Mike got his own invite not long after and joined the Navy for a spell. They lost track of that car. I do have one picture of it with my Dad standing beside it. Need to try to find it. Enjoyed your build.

We are safe. Almost all the bridges in our town are washed out. Thank you for thinking of us and for watching the channel.

Love what you've done to the coupe with one exception...you should have kept the Buick taillights. It would have shown a certain period of time that ain't coming back. It's yours...build it like you want.

Couple of additional popular choices for taillights back then were 47 Chev & 50 Pontiac.....

I love your videos but I wish you would record as you go and take us along as you build. Of course the stories are cool too. It's just nice to watch an expert and learn new things as you go. Keep up the great work!

Back in the Gasser days , you were allowed to make any combination of two body modifications , it could be chopped , or channeled , or sectioned . However , total height reduction was not to exceed four inches . Kinda defeated the purpose of making two body mods , didn't it ? Hard to believe , but there are pictures out there of a sectioned '37 to '41 Willys Gasser . It looked very interesting , I wonder what happened to it ? Anyway , orange Plexi windows and channeled , your initial hunch was spot on .

Great job on that original "Edsel Ford" hood. I like to give the man his due. Henry never did. Edsel worked his self to death fight ing the old man to get past the ModelT.

That's the scoop you mentioned in your mini vise video! Do I get a participation cookie? edit: What are those black trim ring things on the wheels??
@puddingcreekrodshop2 ай бұрын
Those are 1940’s accessory wheel trim rings. Made by Lyon. Originally they would have been white to look like whitewall tires. Thanks for watching our channel!

I went to look at 2 ‘50 Chevy picks. Supposedly 1 ran 1 for parts. I get there and. 1 pickup looked ok but didn’t have an engine or trans. The other one was badly wrecked with an engine and trans in it. I asked where is. The one that runs? The seller said if you take the engine and trans outta that one and put it the other one you have a truck that runs. 😡

I dig it, but Dubs is a East coast guy, and likes channeled coupes, sorry! White buckets are early Mustang. Had a pair in my 34 (channeled!) PU. Love Dubs,,

Show it , don't drive it on the streets in it's current death trap configuration. These old rods don't belong on modern roads . Fix it up and park it . Don't hurt yourself or an innocent on the street .

It will be fine. Virtually every crash is caused by an incompetent or oblivious driver.
