Overall pretty accurate but Ibrahimovic earned $9 million a year; way more than Beckham earned year on year. Funny thing is, as Alfie mentioned that Beckham should instead buy Hull City out of the Allams, he actually did in an alternate universe. I play a save of FM 16 where in the 2015-2016 season, Hull City was promoted again to the Premier League and again reached the FA Cup final while finishing second in the Championship, under then manager Steve Bruce. In the first season back to the Premier League and playing in the Europa League, David Beckham bought the club and now acting as the chairman. The transaction also handed Hull City with a handsome wage and transfer budget.

Some context I didn't see mentioned, Miami was really reluctant to help with a stadium at that time because they had just been burned by the new Miami Marlins' (baseball) stadium. They poured, I believe, more than half a billion dollars of public money into that and then the owner of the team traded away all the good players for peanuts.
@Onzie773 жыл бұрын
not quite. the marlins owner overpaid for a bunch of players to pretend to be competitive, and hired ozzie guillen who was a disaster because of comments made in support of Castro, the players they signed were latino and shipped off good white players to fit with the area and then they had worst record, so he broke apart the team and rebuilt, then they had an amazing batting lineup with 5 of the 9 batters hitting .300 and he sold it

The American club team of Inter Miami is a very exciting and interesting project, I think there is a lot of potential with David Beckham project in the United States. MLS which is the USA soccer is growing. I also believe China despite its setbacks is also a growing league as interest still remains heavily as a new growing market. Think of MLS like Wal-Mart. And all of the different clubs are the different departments in the store. If for some reason one department isn't selling well, like the shoe department... Wal-Mart doesn't really worry too much about it because all of the other departments can make up for it. Like huge sells in the grocery department or electronics department. MLS and it's clubs are basically the same. lol.
@miamisportsculture28794 жыл бұрын
But why is each team valued differently? In essence if MLS has that specific ownership structure, shouldn’t each team be valued the same?
@SuperSirianRigel4 жыл бұрын
@@miamisportsculture2879 Because a lot of the assets; like the stadiums, training facilities, and team stores, are credited as being controlled by the teams themselves. That's why they are able to measured in value separately. But overall they are still managed all together as a whole.
@miamisportsculture28794 жыл бұрын
AdamNetherton weird but ok. I wish MLS had the same ownership structure as other American leagues or the Premier League in England. Personally not a fan of “single entity” but oh well 😂
@SuperSirianRigel4 жыл бұрын
@@miamisportsculture2879 Well. Single entity is the only reason the MLS exists in it's current format. Several teams would probably not exist at this point in time if they were responsible for their own financial success. The bottom 4 or 5 teams in MLS could have already folded by now if it wasn't for single entity. So yeah it's weird but it seems to be working for MLS right now. lol.
@miamisportsculture28794 жыл бұрын
AdamNetherton but in theory shouldn’t MLS teams be responsible for their own financial success? If say, Inter Miami makes more revenue than Real Salt Lake, or LAFC makes more revenue than Minnesota, and you could prove it via financial statements, shouldn’t it be separate? I’ll give an example. In baseball, there is revenue sharing for higher teams giving money to lower teams in Major League Baseball, but each team is independently owned. But baseball does this as a way to help lower revenue clubs. Could something similar be implemented in MLS which could allow for a change in ownership structure?

In USA there are limitations to sport franchise ownership (it is not a free market). Since there was already Miami FC playing in the county, the county had to change some limitations to allow another "soccer" franchise in the area. Since it's Florida, that means Beckham had to pay off many politicians and wait to have it passed, but even then it was not a guarantee. Politics is the real reason it took so long.

Idea for next vid, 7 national teams that have been significantly better at women’s football compared to the men’s national football team and why eg. USA Australia and more.

Great job. I thought this would be a Beckham suck job. You were kind to him but didn't, as many do, give him all of the credit for the team here and you did a great job of explaining the difference between MLS and mostly every other league in the world.

@@minikkhshaaan5746 Patrick Viera thinks it will be as good as Ligue 1 very soon, which I agree with given the last 5 and 10 years of MLS. Beyond that I agree, theres a ceiling without UEFA money

I love how this video is less than a year old and "relegation threatened team like West Ham" sounds so wrong!

I think a goal for beckham is qualifying for the concacaf chanpions league and winning it but then again that's what every mls team wants

Honestly my only disappointment of what time I was born is that i was born in a time where the US didnt care about football wouldve loved growing up where everyone liked football instead of a few rich white girls and a couple of the Hispanic kids
