Recorded on all kinds of dates, over the course of the past year. For simplicity's sake, the majority of the narration heard was recorded on November 26th, 2022, but the final thoughts were recorded on September 12th, 2023, so I've set that as the recording date.
At long last. Almost a year in the making, started by a simple comment chain left on Episode 8 of my Watch Dogs 2 police series, at long last it is here - the video affectionately nicknamed the "Megarant" by my friends, a video where I go into detail regarding my thoughts and feelings about the creative bankruptcy in the gaming industry, the loss of identity sweeping franchises (especially open world franchises) like a tidal wave, and also, the reason why I hate Watch Dogs 2's main story. Here you will learn the true meaning of the words "Colorful and stupid" and considering how long this took to make, I hope you enjoy 75 minutes worth of a rather different side of me, the fiery side that gets fed up with corporate trash just like the next guy, but the one that I usually keep to myself in videos. But, now that side finally has almost 76 minutes worth of time to rant, so for those who enjoy listening to me rant, kick up your feet and bust out your popcorn because we're going to be here a while.

- The clips of Battlefield 1942 were played on the custom map "Battle of the Bulge Soviet Assault" - a custom map that replaces the Germans on the map Battle of the Bulge with the Soviet Union instead. This map variant was created personally by me, though I haven't chosen to release it yet so there is no link for it to be downloaded.
- In the clips of GTA San Andreas, I'm using an alternate Premier design for the police cars in San Fierro, found here:

- A massive expansion-sized mod for Saints Row 2 adding dozens of new features including stability improvements and most importantly (to me) the ability to buy law enforcement uniforms from Let's Pretend, the mod seen in all of the clips of Saints Row 2 is the iconic Gentlemen of the Row mod, which can be found on ModDB.com here:

- The mod that I mentioned that changes the textures of the Army of Chaos in Just Cause IV from a flashy graffiti-esque purple/yellow/teal color scheme to a more realistic green camouflage is the Organized Army of Chaos mod, found here:

- Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted in the Fallout: New Vegas clip that the Remnants Power Armor I'm wearing isn't exactly the right color. That's because it's retextured to resemble the Enclave Power Armor seen in Fallout 2, thanks to this mod found here:

Alright! At long last it's here and I finally had the chance to See the butterfly effect in action started by me commenting the WD2 patrol series. I have to say, I was unaware of the scale of Just how many games do it nowadays which I learned from the cover art collage. It's definetely a bad trend which killed off my favourite series - Saints Rów and led the studio behind it, Volition to it's grave, as well as completely destroyed GTA in my eyes via all the moronic DLC's for money milking and pissed all over the tonę of the original Watch Dogs. Sad thing is, this trend does not just relate to the story and arts tyle, it also cosists of at least 2 different factors which you probably didnt mention because it would be in production for another year XD No 1 would be how they handle certain game features. Most notably saves and modability, which is related to online connection. A New trend right nów seems to be that all games (even if its completely unnecessary) need to have some sort of online element like achievement statictics, leaderboards (JC3 has that for example) etc. To avoid scamming these worth less features the companies try to make the games as unmoddable as possible and go as far as prosecuting modders legally. Furthermore you wont find cheats in any modern Day game and in most of them youre even stripped off the ability to have numerous game saves - Just one autosaving profile. This is highly disencouraging for the players to pull any risky moves and thus to have fun and experience the game in all its glory. Secondly its about the story writing in general. You mentioned in the video that you can't show whats behind a particular door in WD1 because it would be too risky for YT. You dont have to fear anymore as most likely you wont get content like this anymore. Nowadays AAA game companies try to stay far away from any controversy (which is funny because that was the main selling point for many R* games back in the Day) to avoid bad publicity. Instead of well written serious stories about crime and morality, deep thoughts and reflections you Will at Best get something bland and boring or... Woke. In result while picking up a New game you have to pray that the gameplay Will be good (it wont be) because you can be sure about getting a meaningless story or a totally shit one that Will make you wish all the main cast Just died (like in SR 2022). Want a story of revenge by taking a deep dive in the unknown criminal underworld - have a larping mission Instead, fuck you sincerely. Overall, I'm really glad you made this video and want to thank you for all the effort you put in. It was a blast finding all the easter egg texts on the screen but more importantly it is essential that more people address this issue, which is why i Will share it around the few Discord servers im in. A big change starts with a small revolution and im hoping the gaming society Will start one at last. As I proved with an example in my comment below, this trend is spreading to different categories of media and corrupts the entire modern pop culture. It honestly Just makes me sick and tired and this point and I, and probably many more people, are craving for a change...

1:42 Is that "particular car" from the clip the General Lee? :o 7:30 In WD2 no matter what you do, you can't lose followers - only gain them, which is unrealistic and makes this feature no thing more than a differently named XP bar I love the little smuggled in jokes like in 17:40 XD I have to disagree with the statement you made at 18:40 - Mafia 3 has no traffic violation feature and you can essentially zoom past any Police car going the wrong way at 100mph and they won't care. The argument would be valid if they engaged in a chase immediately instead of giving you a ticket. 21:58 A very well example if a well executed parody work is basically any movie with Leslie Nielsen - Naked Gun, Spy Hard.... You name it and unlike GTA it's actually funny. 31:10 Man the amount of videos I watched about the downfall of the SR series. And then each part began getting more and more insane with Fury Road being some completely idiotic story that shares Just the name with Mad Max (unless a tribe lead by some fat mutant Who controlls when his people get water from a massive pipe on the mountain somehow fits the story of the beginning and im Just too stupid to understand) - they also went via the sci fi path. 1:13:40 You did one helo of a good job, my friend

That is indeed true, yes. No cheats, no multiple saves, modders are cracked down upon instead of embraced, those too are elements of the gaming industry that are garbage right now and need to change. Not to mention the obsession with online features - how many games nowadays are about to come out with always online DRM? As in, you can't play singleplayer without an internet connection or the game won't work? All for basically nothing. Didn't think much of the Watch Dogs 1 door when I put it in the video, but yeah that's true too - games aren't daring to be unique and interesting either, or to tell a gritty story, or to have a world of their own at all. Instead games like Watch Dogs 2, Saints Row 2022, and GTA V are essentially just slapping a coat of goofy cartoony paint all over a copy-pasted real life setting, so you can goof around, without having anything deeper than that. I appreciate so much the thanks for this considering how frickin' long this took to make. And I'm glad to hear you're going to spread the word about the plague of magenta/blue (or teal)/yellow xD And you wouldn't believe how much I want a change, yes. Years in the 2000s you had absolute legends of games coming out left and right - 2010 as an example gave us the original Black Ops, Just Cause 2, Halo: Reach, Civilization V, Mass Effect 2, Mafia II, Fallout: New Vegas, and probably others that I can't remember, all legendary games all in the same year. Nowadays you'd be lucky to get one game like that.
