I enjoyed the movie just as I did Blade Runner. Both are quite meta and sublime. ..as well as action-packed and dramatic.

sadly like Blade Runner it won't get the praise it desrves for twenty years. Oppenheimer will be Ghandi

Except Blade Runner had a good script and had a logic which stayed consistent throughout.

@@columlee6714there’s movies that are good without sound logic, and I think creator is one of them. I do agree that a lot of the script could be patched up.

I heard quite a few were disappointed after watching this, but I've got to say I loved the film. Think a longer directors cut is needed though. Can't wait for that!
@IamNinjaOfNinja

the dissapointed probably can tell its the cut/deleted scene that hurted the movie. all we want to watch is the directior vision regardless of film length and not the studio version.

The Creator was so good! Loved it, one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, Gareth Edwards directed an amazing movie, the production, action, music all top notch, felt so fresh, John David Washington stole the show in the movie 👏👏👏

The monkey moment killed me in theater ! 😂 I love how the animals are indirectly part of the conflict, being themselves concerned by this massive war between 2 species.

ok wow I do think the fact that the they had humans potraying AI as humans definitely gave more emotion and sentience to the AI. Good job.

This movie is a mix in between the Golden Child with Eddy Murphy, Star Wars and District 9, also there fews hommage to Indiana Jones and Alien, still it kinda feel like something new or a mix that is not often done in cinema...

Gareth Edwards great sense of grand but realistic visual scale is applied inconsistently so that we have believable structures and scenes intercut with views of cities and structures that are so far fetched (especially considering the relative proximity in time to our own time) that you lose your suspended disbelief. Similar to this problem is completely mismatched and non-sensical technologies. The U.S. military arrives in a "stealth" flying vehicle with flood lights and more noise than squadron of helicopters and out jump special forces attempting a "stealthy" arrival with flood lamps on their helmets. Next scene there are apparently anti-gravity craft silently coasting about in the air which appear to be at least 20 times bigger. We have a portable scanner that can read and record and transfer the entire consciousness of an individual AFTER DEATH into a robot brain, but the AI robots apparently do not have interconnectivity or the ability to communicate without speaking in hard to understand robot voices. Sophisticated targeting systems are infallable and smart missiles destroy targets and yet a key scene involves silly looking robot bombs that run around looking like something out of a cartoon. Half the robots look like they were made in a machine shop with old slide projectors for heads while the rest of the robots have perfectly convincing, human-like faces and movement. The AI is incapable of finding fugitives as they move through an urban landscape, something the Chinese Communist Party does today regularly in Chinese cities. Apparently all of this incongruity is part and parcel of Edwards' and his crew's attempts to create a realistic and novel look, but the unintended result is a world where nothing really makes sense or is coherent to the intelligent science fiction fan. Much more important is the failure to address the most basic problem with AI narrative; no matter how much AI appears to be human, it never ceases to be AI, and no level of sentimentality can over come that foundational fact. The movie appears to imply that the Alphie character is somehow patterned in a unique way from the dead daughter of the two main characters (I think) and has a unique capacity to grow in a staggering manner (how the AI expert deducted that from a few brief pokes and glances, I have no idea) but that doesn't really address the foundational problem that AI only appears to act in a human manner and appearances are deceiving. A major missed opportunity is that the reveal of Alphie's robot identity could have come later in the film but instead we instantly know she is a robot/android and the mystery is lost before we even get started with her. I could go on and on. I love Gareth Edwards but this movie is a big flop conceptually for me.

I haven't seen Creator yet but it seems he has a good sense of visuals but it's kind of superficial sense and he doesn't understand the craft of storytelling well enough. At least Rogue One was like that. It ends up coming of as superficial. He's not Alex Garland or Villeneuve in terms of conceptual depth. Maybe he'll get better with more practice and feedback, but based on how he talks, he seems like more of a nuts and bolts type person. But man, he seems to be a really nice guy.

Enjoyed a lot about the movie but was as disappointed as I was with Avatar when the very unique sensibility of both movies gets thrown out the window toward the end when HUGE invasions by the mega armies that crush and destroy everything, in for too long scenes of mindless violence.

I enjoy it but hated the stupid pretentious super-wide asspect ratio, probably for cutting the CGI cost per pixel. This movie true nature feels like it was intended or best presented using standard 2.35 or 2.4 aspect ratio combined with IMAX sequence.
