The Crew 1 holds a very special place in my heart. I bought it at launch and played it almost everyday with my best friend back then. We played it on and off throughout the years. I can’t do that anymore… Because they shut it down and other personal reasons… I miss those days. We didn’t even buy The Crew 2 because we preferred the original. Also, Ubisoft announced yesterday that The Crew 2 and the Motorfest will get an offline mode in the future, to prevent what happened to the first game. We’ll see if they keep their promise. I did get this on PS5 on sale but haven’t played it. I just got it on Steam too. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on Linux due to Ubisoft not allowing the anticheat to run on other platforms, whereas most games with anticheat do allow it. Also, this game would have benefitted a lot from higher frame rates.

Yeah its sad, i have a sneaking suspicion that it might happen to this game as well, so they decided to do the last fire sale. But if they "addressed" such concerns maybe they will make offline mode available and delist it from steam, but it seems that the future for this game is not looking good, i wish i could try the first game tho. Thats one of the reasons i absolutely dread the idea of cloud gaming, fortunately for foreseeable future it's going to stay only as niche alternative and not as replacement due to internet and networking limitations.
