But blaming others for the team failure is the best part! No, you're right that it can sting hard when you know you screwed up, and everyone else knows it too. At least it only takes a minute to reshuffle up and try again! Thank you so much for the great review! This game has never missed with those I've shown it to.

It's such a good game, our group does poke at each other and doesn't bother us, but we're mindful when playing with others.

I dare say the greatest trick taking game. Even above Pinochle. With hands taking 2-4 minutes. We have had 2-4 hour sessions of the crew and had to force ourselves to stop. My longest session on the crew was about 6 hours. I kid you not. We have played hundreds of hands of both if these games.

Crew 2 is the better game, but I think everyone should still start with Crew 1, especially if you are not a trick taking regular, since it is way easier to grasp, and then move over to Crew 2. And with a 10er per game, your can easily get the first just to get into the system. Great games, fully agree with your scoring, and the ratio of dollar to enjoyable playtime is insane. Big recommendation for both!

Apparently I have house ruled this game, and have thaught it to quite a few people. When picking misions(in deep sea); I always explaing that everyone can 1 time skip all the rules in front of them. But I do feel like this makes it better for new players when they are not confident yet in what they can do with their hand, or when you have a sub-optimal hand so you can make the last card go around the table once more to see if nobody else has any better cards.

There is a two player version on pages 21 f. of the rule book. "In a two-person game, a double row of 14 cards is used to represent Tonoja as a third crew member."

The two player variant exists. Just not optimal or all that enjoyable.

Agreed. As far as I'm concerned. Quest for Planet 9 is a 4 player only game. It was definitely balanced for 4. And Mission deep sea is great at 3, 4 and 5.
