Jesko sound is a bit overrated in general. The cross plane V8 Koenigseggs like Agera and CCX sound much better imo. (This comes from an NA flat plane sound fan)

I swear all TCM car sounds need is a little bit of reverb and the sounds would be so close to perfect copy of real life car sounds. In fact, a lot of racing games lack the natural reverb that we hear from car sounds when traveling through the air to get to our ears.

Revving the car in neutral while stopped is the next best thing, but it doesn't quite convey how the engine will sound while it's accelerating UNDER LOAD, which is what really matters.

Okay, this reply is fairly long, but I can tell you my honest impressions of The Crew Motorfest's handling(and other parts of the game. The key word here is 'honest'. I'm not going to pull punches here. But bear in mind that I really wanted to like this game... - the handling's improved...but not by much, and not by enough for it really make the cars enjoyable to drive. The sense in which it's improved is that the stopping distances are better and more realistic, the cars have a little more weight to them. It now feels a little more like driving line actually matters. At first; and I mean within the first ten-fifteen minutes, I was fairly impressed. But the longer I play the smaller the changes feel, and the more the changes feel like illusions. Cars still have that horrible habit(NFS Unbound does this too) of instantly slipping out of traction and turning sideways with no real warning. In the market leader in this genre - Forza Horizon - the cars lose grip *progressively.* It doesn't just happen straight away. But in TC, a car is either gripping the road with its tires or it isn't, there's barely any in-between. They are instantly sent sideways by kerbs, again because of the game's inability to simulate the gradual loss of traction. So, honest opinion on the game's handling so far is that it's still...awful. I don't know how to say it nicely, it just feels horrible to drive a car in this game. The cars still feel lacking in momentum and weight above all. Other people's feelings about how an arcadey racing game *should* feel may be different from mine, but I think a game like this should provide the player with a toy-town version of real world physics. A real physics engine, that's simulating things physically, but dumbed down for the player so they can do those things it's simulating fairly easily. Horizon does this - it uses real physics, but by softening the edges it lets even novices explore the consequences of real world car behaviour. What the Crew does by contrast is cut corners. So instead of simulating real physics and making it approachable for any gamer, it just designs certain driving mechanics in isolation and then forces them into the game. Eg. drifting. In Horizon, or in any arcade/simcade game with something like a real physics model(eg Project Cars 3, Driveclub, etc.), drifting is just what happens when the physics models a car losing grip. And when the player can manage the loss of grip, and balance it, that's drifting. The drifting is an emergent property of the physics model. But The Crew just bolts on this terrible drift-handling model, and then switches it on for some cars('drift edition' cars), and leaves it switched off for all the rest. So it feels completely unnatural, because the drifting was inserted by hand. This is the case with almost all car behaviour in the game. None of it feels like it has any real consistent connection to actual physics. (FYI, there's no real long, truly straight section of highway in the game. Although there's a long carriageway that passes the major city, it has quite a few kinks in it that stop it being truly straight. Not sure if that's an issue for you.) And to sum up the game as a whole, breaking it down into positives and negatives: POSITIVES - Looks a bit nicer than TC2. - I quite like the playlist system and the videos that introduce them, eg. learning about Rocket Bunny's founder and his deisgn principles, and about JDM culture. - And you can finally remap controls! Now I can have my Forza layout in the Crew. NEGATIVES: - Handling, still. I could leave it there because that's all that really matters in a game like this, but there are quite a few gross things that have irritated me on top of that, like... - The AI. Makes racing a joyless chore. - You can turn off nitro for yourself, to make things harder and more realistic. But the opponent cars still have it! Very weird choice. - A huge chunk of the cars in the showroom just say 'exclusive to The Crew 2'. This feels so grubby to me, to have cars 'available' in the showroom, that, well, aren't available unless you have the previous game. Also, I have TC2, but because I didn't know that cars could be imported to TC:M I got TC:M on a different console to the one that has TC2 on it. - The grind involved in getting enough money to buy cars is so nakedly aimed at forcing MTXes on the player. I've been playing for about four hours, and I've got 500k. That will buy me a quarter of a Ferrari. It's almost as bad in this respect as Gran Turismo, but at least that handles well. - The number of genuinely new, exciting cars is surprisingly low. The Bolide? The Revuelto? There are a few others but given that this proclaimed as a sequel to TC2 it's pretty paltry. There's a very noticeable element of 'cash grab' about the whole game, because you can tell it was just meant to be a DLC until one of the money eating lizard people at Ubisoft said 'let's make it a fully-fledged sequel and continue our goal of eradicating joy from the world'. - Personally, the one thing that made TC stand out for me was the sheer size of its maps. There's something appealing about a map that makes you feel like you can go on a genuine journey, a genuine roadtrip, when you set off for a distant point. So the scaling down of the map is a bit of a disappointment to me. Although it certainly allows the map to look better, and to have more attention paid to its visuals and character, the scale of TC was always the thing that intrigued me about the game even in spite of its mixed reviews. TL;DR? - to me this is flat out cash grab with very little in the way of new cars to justify its existence, and the major flaws from TC2 have all carried over. The cars still feel bad to drive and the racing is still awful. I would avoid it.

I really liked TC2 since the roads actually felt realistic compared to Forza where it feels like giant racetrack in my opinion. However, the cars handled so chaotic (for lack of a better word). I’m deciding between this and the new Forza Motorsport and I’m not trying to waste $70, so I’ll see how Motorsport is with reviews and such. Edit: I remember there was a super long highway in TC2 that started from a mountain that went past the salt flats and such. I guess I’ll have to look for videos myself before I speak on if that’s good or not in this new game.

More than half the cars shown in this video aren't in NFS, it's not really comparable. There is a video where they compared TCM, FH5 and NFSU, and in that video all 3 games were compared on their sound quality of course with the same cars. NFSU actually had the overall better sounds on most of the cars.

the crew car sounds have always just seemed like they are trying to re-create the sounds instead of recording and using them for the cars. there is always this fake tone underneath. NFS does it a little better these days and so does forza horizon. i mean the Ferrari sounds nothing like the real thing, especially at the high end. sounds super fake. the Lambo has no real difference from the Ferrari where it just sounds like someone tried to make a car sound kind of like it. there are all these extra tones from each car that have no business being there. I mean HOLY CRAP THE BUGATTI ISNT EVEN CLOSE. but other than car sounds being artificial sounding and more wrong than right, game is pretty good. Also i hope The Crew team reads this......JUST BECUASE SOMETHING HAS A TURBO OR A SUPER CHARGER DOESNT MEAN ITS THE LOUDEST THING WHEN DRIVING! All cars and engine handle the turbos different. it just sounds like when there is a turbo or super charger you put a in game blow of valve on all of them! Stop doing this. NFS sounds mixer and forced induction slider was a perfect solutions for this. WHAT HAS ENDED UP HAPPENING IS EVERYONE GET TIRED OF THE SAME ASS TURBO SOUND! even though some cars turbos are more silent, depends on size of turbos and placement. Do better

the sound is broken in every single game, they can't fix the sound from a broken car, the car revving is terrible, the sound repeats itself on every car, the sound is not identical, this also applies to the speeds in the car game, it looks like you couldn't go full throttle at all, bad physics in the game, a lot of things that have been around for a long time it should have been mastered in the world of games they are totally stagnant for me there is no game that would meet my requirements

Sure, real life has slightly better graphics (I needed to buy the glasses DLC though) but there are a lack of options that ruin the game. I can't change the camera out of 1st person when driving. Respawn times after a crash are ridiculously long. There are no free mods in the workshop. The admins are terribly power hungry and will ban you for driving too fast. 4/10

You absolutely can change the camera out of 1st person, there is a option setting that locks the camera in first person, since it's off by default, you turned it on without knowing. Did you at least tried to play with the options for like 5 minutes? I'm assuming you aren't trolling.
