Movies require larger resources and more complex coordination of people. It's why they are so compromised right now, because of the sources they have to go to to invest in a film project. Advancements in and accessibility of tech has certainly democratized a lot of the processes, but even on a small indie scale, it's still a huge group project.

As for historical events, I think its the misleading folks thats wrong. Look at the historical mistakes made in the movie Red Baron for instance. Some made it a better "movie" while the truth in other instances made Manfred Von Richthofen a legend.

The thing about the Hellraiser reboot is that they cast a trans woman as Pinhead; Clive Barker created both the original film and the reboot, both of which he personally adapted from his own novella; and in that novella, trans female Pinhead is actually CLOSER to Clive Barker’s vision of the character, who had an effeminate voice and looked in a way where you couldn’t tell if he was male or female because of how heavily the Cenobites mutilated themselves.
