I hate to be that guy but it didn't start off with them dead in the original. It didn't spend to much time on the couple & it showed how they died with flashbacks as he hunts down the gang of what they did from her point of view since they threw Eric out the window while they continued to do what they did to her. Love the videos though. Big fan 😊

I mean the opening scene is Sarah with the ambulance as Shelly clings to her last few breathes and Eric is already dead so I see 3Cs point. He comes back to life within the first 10 minutes and we get some backstory as he hunts them.

And I'm not talking about the Gothic your thinking of. Traditional Gothic horror is what the crow is. They've gone away from that. Too much.

But I have seen a lot of people defend this remake with the “But this one is gonna show Eric and Shelly’s relationship before they die” and all I can think about is how the RoboCop remake went out of its way to show more of the relationship between Alex Murphy and his wife. And how no one who loved the original gave a single shit about the things the remake thought it was improving upon by focusing on more of it.

Oh people are most definitely being wrong in their opinions. You can notice right out the gate that they are comparing two films and never even trying to reason even once that they compare none of the films to the source material of the comic book. That's how you know they double down on their argument and hold such a strong opinion about the details they don't understand. Eric and Shelly had ample amounts of flash backs in the novel. So much. And there was alot more blood grittiness and gratuitous violence too that never made the first film. The first film basically told Jane's O'barr to eat sht. So every one pretending to care about the integrity of the crow aren't the most genuine people.

Personally, I'm really open to seeing this. I love the original, but this looks really good. The other thing, everyone is calling it a remake. It's not an actual remake of the film. They are using the source material (graphic novels) and going by that with their own spin on it. I just find it funny that everyone was fine with the god-awful sequels, but won't even give this one a chance.

With that last 20 mins rumour, I get wanting to show the relationship between Eric and Shelly like in the graphic novel and not as with the original film where it’s use in short flashbacks (which worked for that film). But, dedicating 2 AND A HALF ACTS until we see Eric brought back to life to seek his revenge makes no sense.

This is more of a different situation than that. The original actor who played eric draven (The crow) Died on set it was his last performance. The original had a more gothic and dark tone. This one isn't gothic, doesn't follow the original novel and is just disrespectful.

So much is taken away from the story when Shelly “walked into something she wasn’t supposed to see”. That’s cliche action thriller movie stuff. The original story and film are much more tragic, because there’s no reason for such cruelty to take place. Some people just suffer because others are evil. I honestly have been waiting years for a reboot, i really love the original movie so much and i i love bill skarsgard so i wanna give it a chance but my issues are like cmon guys u really couldn't just give him the white face paint? Was it that hard? Nobody would've thought he was pennywise. Another issue is the way they're killed especially compared to the original and how brutal and sad it is, but in this reboot they just get suffocated by generic goons and that's it. I think the biggest issue is that it’s going to be a remake and Brandon Lee will always be seen as the best Eric Draven.
