I did a tour of Wales with a local tour guide. She told us that he and Catherine shopped in the local stores, acted like regular people, were very friendly to the locals, and that Catherine actually was the troop leader to a local equivalent of our Boy Scouts. They fit in with the local citizens beautifully. The local residents were very impressed by both Prince William and the future Princess of Wales, Catherine.

Prince William served in Search and Rescue for the RAF in Anglesey in Wales in 2010. He was an actual pilot and saved at least one life. At that time he and Catherine lived in Wales as a regular couple and part of the community and could be seen quite often living a 'normal' life which people respected and did not make a fuss of.

I think you are looking at the Harry/Meghan situation through an American haze. By that, I mean you are giving Harry too much credit for negatively influencing William. Americans' attitudes don’t reflect the rest of the world, especially Europe and countries that have monarchies, and they understand the importance of the monarch’s role; they know the difference between celebrity and monarchy. Americans making uneducated comments on social media are (once again) showing their ignorance and arrogance. You are correct in saying the American press is pushing the “where’s Kate” nonsense, but from what I can see, it’s not being picked up by other countries. William’s dignity and character in the face of Harry’s jealousy and pettiness prove who the better man is. William is a serious man and the future king, whereas Harry is a fool being led by the nose by a shrew he was silly enough to marry. And I do not think Catherine should appear on the balcony if she doesn't want to. She will have a lifetime of balcony appearances, God willing. Leave the Princess alone! And lastly, I think the way BP handled Catherine's medical leave was acceptable. They explained her withdrawal succinctly in January. No one needs weekly or monthly updates, and the public has no right to demand that. Modern times don't excuse the lack of decency and manners. People need to get over themselves.

Just a tidbit on what diplomatic behaviour teaches us about such memorials. You should not turn your back on the memorial until you are done paying your respects (so you lay the flowers, bow etc) so while Queen Camilla was walking backwards, Mrs. Macron had actually turned around. I'm really surprised that "histrionic" isn't a word that is mentioned much, if AT ALL since Megxit, especially where Walmart Wallis is concerned, considering how much of her behavior screams "HISTRIONIC! She is often referred to as a narcissist, which made sense, until the Depp/Heard trial. Heard's antics & overall personality & toxic relationship w/Depp that fueled his drug/alcohol dependency mirrors H&M's relationship so much, that it can't be written off a mere coincidence. Heard was diagnosed as histrionic w/BPD. When seeing the markers for both of these mental health/behavioral disorders, it's pretty hard to deny that MM checks off just about every single box for both & explains her next level craziness & palpable desperation that extends well past her being just a narcissist.

Following on from another comment I do think the Catherine's "disappearance" has thrown into sharp contrast the difference between how Brits are largely happy to settle for allowing Catherine to withdraw for as long as she needs without the constant need for updates and those abroad, particularly in the US who demand more. For me this contrast is simply because in the U.K. we understand the RF are not politicians and not celebrities. They are a family. An elite family true but a family like our own. . If it were the King we would expect and receive more updates but Catherine is not "employed" by the country. We do not support her financially and we have no right to demand anything. Nor does she need to court public favour as politicians and celebrities do. Her position does not depend on public approval although obviously that is desirable. Americans seem to me to regard members of the RF as though they existed at the whim of the public and therefore need to curry favour. Nothing could be further from the truth. Again. the King as Head of State could be removed if he did something dreadful but Charles I is the only Monarch deposed since medieval times. Edward VIII gave up the throne voluntarily and is a case in point . So I'm afraid, as has transpired, demands for more information. appearances etc by Catherine will not happen. Her wishes will be respected and we in the U.K. pray her treatment will prove successful and she returns to us when the time is right.

I think it has actually made them more popular! He is showing us how great the REAL royals act and how they carry out their duties.

@@jaimicottrill2831 True! I appreciate the service that give of themselves! … I was specifically referring ‘the sugars’ and the hatefulness that they spew on behalf of the gruesome twosome.

Hi Brittany, Don't ever compare my Royal Family to the bloody Kardashians ever again! The only people H and M have shown up is themselves!

Andrew needs to remember Mummy is no longer around to bail him out, legally and financially. Seems much like Harry, Andrew has to learn the hard way. His ego would rather go broke fronting in Royal Lodge than downgrading to Frogmore Cottage. As regular folk, I can’t imagine their arrogant mindset. I would be beyond grateful for such a blessed life solely due to birthright.

You are part of where is Kate campaigns! Always talking about if she could show her face that would be amazing I watch how you just makes no sense ! Harry has not damaged William or drag the monarchy Harry has dragged himself down he looks like a clown your analysis is so flawed

Hi Brittany , there has been a hoo ha here over our PM Rishi Sunak for leaving the D-Day commemorations early - he should have been there with all the other global leaders. Sunak left the commemorations to record a political interview with regards to the forthcoming general election..... Also re Camilla - I think she didn't take Brigitte's hand as protocol means that you don't turn your back on the war memorial, you have to step backwards away from the memorial before turning.
