The Cryo Catalyst Crisis [Genshin Impact Catalysts Only]

Genshin Impact, but we use Catalysts ONLY. AKA, Spells Only.
This is inspired by my own Swords Only playthrough we currently have running on the channel. That account is at a point where we just need to farm domains to further build characters, so with plenty of catalyst-wielding characters on the horizon, it's time to begin this journey as well.
This time around we attempt to climb to the summit of Dragonspine despite still not having a cryo catalyst user in the game. I want to build a DPS Mona, and thus we need some Heart of Depth pieces.
Can we make it up when there are cryo monuments we need to light, though?

@@karolinabuba575 They already are going to release Scaramouche as someone with a catalyst though so there's a chance he won't be a catalyst if he will ever get released, I would love that but in a way I doubt it because he's way more problematic than Scaramouche despite people beliefs, if you read the Lore and Manga you most definitely know about it, but I would still like for Dottore to be playable. Edit: So, despite Dottore is even worse than Scaramouche or Childe (Signora level of impossible to redeem) he apparently got a playable model. Those are just some leaks that can't be 100% proved yet but the in game file does seem to exist with his model. What will happen I don't know and I don't know if they are trustworthy yet.

Klee's burst not working off field is still the weirdest thing to me. It would instantly solve basically all her problems because she would slot into becoming a genuinely good pyro applyer/sub dps. So odd.

If you eventually get Yanfei to c4 you can build her as a shielder (and maybe healer with Prototype Amber) by stacking HP and ER on her. Her shield is actually pretty strong and with catalyst characters being so squishy it might be useful :D Thanks for the hard work you put into the content as always, I love this series! Very clever using Sucrose for the monuments.

I think you should level up mona's burst because not only gives her overall more dps because of the omen but also team mates damage, also i think heizou is an option for a dps anemo is not that bad for shield braking and you can have another element to help brake the shield mona-barbabruh klee-yanfei etc

Try using Klee, Sucrose, Mona, Barbara...so that the hydro resonance can help Barbara's healing

The interaction is about their skills, certain anemo characters skills and bursts can absorb an element to deal additional damage of that element. Includes traveler, kazuha, sucrose burst, venti burst etc. Other anemo like catalyst attacks, and skills that don't have a specific absorption interaction in their description don't. Those that can absorb look for the elements nearby including what is on you. Otherwise you're just hitting something that has no element on it, so the anemo damage doesn't swirl because it's on you, not what's taking damage.

Small tip: You can also use the Emblem set of Mona, her burst is her main damage source so it would make sense. Not to mention, her ER gets converted into hydro damage bonus, simlilar to shogun. And the shimenawas set can actually do pretty well on a DPS yanfei if you ever want to build her on DPS

I learnt how to semi-reliably infuse Sucrose's burst with an element when I watched a Genshin Spiral Abyss tournament. In that event, a competitor had to use Ayaka without Hydro, so he took a hit from the Hydro Herald, threw Sucrose's burst at the enemy and applied Hydro for Ayaka to freeze off of. They won that round lol, though the other competitor was equally as smart, utilizing Anemo MC's Cryo infusion priority to burst down the Herald's shield.

I was looking at the current catalyst characters and the teams you could do Team 1: Klee (main dps), mona (sub dps, dmg buffer), ninguang (with amber she can be built with a em and er to be a shield and healer), last slot is either heizou or yanfei Team 2: Nahida( if you can get her), Barbara(driver since she has the least application), Lisa(sub burst), Sucrose(vv shred, em buff) (hyperbloom team)

The reason there's no cryo catalyst is probably because of the elemental reaction of cryo which involves physical damage. So it will problably take some time for mihoyo to introduced new mechanics or something of the sort to make a cryo catalyst viable

If you ever get c4 Yanfei using a Tankfei build could be really helpful! Slap on a prototype amber, 2 set TotM 2 set EosF, with all HP and ER focus and boom you have a better shielder then Thoma to go with Klee. Alternativly you can stack EM on Ning for those crystallize shields If you get really desperate...
