I had forgotten all about this song until I heard the Manhattan Transfer version. Between that time I was too wrapped up into what was happening in the world. I heard that newer version and thought, How could I have let all of that wonderful music just slip away from me?! But, I remembered them all from then on....Thank you so much for this wonderful music!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm interesting as I say to elders "YOU SURE ARE DAMN LUCKY TO HAVE LIVED IN THAT TIME!" I'm 19 years old in college and this is my favorite decade to have wished to live in. I bet you 58 years ago you didn't expect to realize that we would still be driving cars powered by gas and not have made it to the Jetsons as most people back then would see the early 21st century as. Quite frankly we still have mailmans, gasoline engines, kitchen with the typical stove, still have telephones. How's that make you feel that we haven't advanced yet to how the Jetsons lived? :)

A big hit in Cities by the Bay, San Francisco & Oakland. KSAN San Francisco, Jumpin' George Oxford, and Oakland, Bouncin' Bill Double Day. Go to the Bay Area Hall Of Fame and you can listen to two of the great DJ's of our time. At last count Bill was still alive at 83. L. A. was big but the great sounds came out of S. F. Tipa Tina The Five Swans, Gaylarks Tell Me Darling, Morrine The Five Campbells, WPLJ The Four Duces, Park Your Love The Five Notes, MTYLTT and on and on...

I knew Ole' Jumpin'; Phone, letters, exchange records. Martha wrote me that he died at 80. My first favorite DJ. Even I had a little radio show on KPOO in the 70's. I was guest DJ on KJAZ at 18. Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end.
