I shot portraits for a corporate brochure as my colleagues in Comms didn't like the ones from the professional shoot they paid alot for . Cloudy day natural light and the xt-10 and the Fuji 35mm 1.4 that goes with me everywhere even when I'm not thinking about going out taking photos. People forget that before you get to the camera and sensor, your ability and your mind come before the lens and camera you are using. My late father was a pro of many years and used to say if someone said that cake was lovely you must have a really good oven you'd laugh in their face and the same is true of cameras. You are more important than what you use most of the time

Literally purchased the X-pro 2 3 weeks ago. I traded in the x100f for it, I love the options of switching lenses and weather sealing. Also it has a look it it that in my opinion is better than the x100v

The X-Pro 2 is the camera that I enjoyed using so much that I switched to being a right eye user. Don't use Fujifilm gear anymore but the X-Pro 2 will always be on my list as one of my favorites.

It’s mentioned that the difference between the 23f2 and 18f2 is one is focus by wire and the other is not. If I’m not mistaken, all XF lenses by Fuji are focus by wire. Beautiful video and fantastic camera! 🔥🔥

In my film only days, I owned and used a Leica M6 35mm film rangefinder with 21, 35, and 90mm M-mount lenses. In the digital era, I waited for Leica to produce a full-frame digital rangefinder that I liked. While I waited, I used a Fuji X-Pro1 and later a Fuji X-Pro2. Finally, Leica produced the Leica M10 digital rangefinder. I purchased one. However, my M10 sits on the shelf because I prefer to use my graphite Fuji X-Pro2 with 16, 23, and 56mm Fujinon lenses.

LOL, I thought the X-Pro1 was the cult classic. I bought mine new back in 2012 and its still going strong. The files and color rendition from the original X-Trans sensor can never be duplicated.

exactly. nobody ever talks about the X-Pro2. The first sensor is the unmatched one. But it's fact that the X-Pro2 offers more functionality and has better resolution, thus being a more suitable camera for professional use nowadays. The X-Pro3 offers little improvements over the 2, except for a few gimmicks like the hidden screen. But as you said the pics from the OG 1 are unmatchable and the sensor is cult. For context: I have the 1 & 3. Cheers!

The XT3 is amazing! I also have it, and I have two X-Pros (1 & 3). To be honest, if you want an X-Pro for the feeling of it, then I recommend getting the X-Pro1, which already is superb and to be honest the pictures it produces are unlike anything else. They look even more analog than the X-Pro2 or 3. I have the X-Pro3 as well and it doesn't come close to that "analog" look of X-Pro1 (that has to do with the sensor, not the simulations, cause the simulations look good anyway, but the first sensor they made was magical). So to save money and get that "analog" feel of pictures and cameras, get the X-Pro1. Otherwise the Xt3 is an amazing tool and I love it as well! Especially cause it can do everything the X-Pros can do and even more (great for video). All the best, cheers!

Nice review, I love the X-Pro2 and have used mine to take roughly 80 000 images so far. Up until this point it is the closest to a perfect camera for my everyday use. Some technical terms in the video was not correct though. I hate to be the one correcting you but: Focus by wire (wich all Fujifilm lenses use) means that the manual focus ring is not mechanically attached to the focus element in the lens, it instead sends info to the focus motor to shift the focus. The fact that 18 f2 front element moves when focusing has nothing to do with "focus by wire".

Picked mine up about 4 months ago with a 23 f2 for $900. Considering the lens goes for consistently more than $300 used I basically got the camera for $600. It was well loved but means that I don’t have to baby a mint camera. I haven’t put it down since and it’s been to several countries with me while traveling. I love shooting with primes and the Fuji primes are phenomenal. Recently picked up the 18 f2 for $250 used and that’s been fun to play with too. Not a huge fan of 50mm but I want to try the 35 1.4 just because of the reputation but the 27 is on my list too. The thumb grips are nice but they get in the way of operating the iso dial easily. Overall I’ve been super happy with this camera and love the photos I’ve gotten out of it. Haven’t picked up my ff Nikon since I got this guy

I've got an Xpro 2 that I absolutely love. You pair that body with the 23mm f/1.4 or the 56mm f/1.2 & you've got yourself a beast of a street camera. Like you, I've got the cold shoe mount thumb rest which really improves the ergonomics and grip. #fujigang By the way...I think you left out the link to your Kodachrome recipe. I'd love to try it (hint, hint)!

I’ve bought newer Fujifilm cameras, and I keep going back to my 7year old X-pro2. Other than the improved view finders, everything else feels cheaper in the newer models. I had to leave Fujifilm as they, for reasons I understand, straying from what made me love their cameras. I still kept my x-pro2 with the 18f2 and 35 (both magical lenses).

Xpro2 is the best version. Still rocking mine and the F2/2.8 lenses (16mm 2.8, 23mm f2, 35mm f2, 50mm f2).

I started with an XE2, then got the XPro2 which is more substantial and premium feeling, but I still kept the XE2 as backup, think it's a cracking camera and can recommend it to anyone who can't stretch to the XPro line.

You should try pairing this camera with new Voigtlander ultron 27mm f2. It's a new released pancake manual focus lens that would pair really well with the x-pro line up

That lens has electrical contacts to communicate with the body, only the xpro2 is not on the list of compatible bodies so you'd have to use it fully manual even though you're paying for the electronics

Just use the mini evf in the optical view finder to zoom into critical focus while composing through the optical view finder.

Got my wife the xpro2 for her bday a year or two ago. She doesn't use it often... I think she enjoyed the xe4 when I had it.. Thinking about it now I should had asked her which she prefer before I sold the xe4 and let her keep the one she liked Oh well. Lesson learned 😅

I bought my X-Pro2 when they announced the X-Pro3. I read the specs for the -3, saw the rear LCD design and immediately grabbed up a new-in-the-box X-Pro2 while they were still available. No regrets and never felt like I missed anything by not going to the newer X-Pro3. FWIW... I have the X-T2, the X-E3 and the X-Pro2 all of which have the same sensor and processor, so I have every Q menu set exactly the same on all the cameras, with the same film simulations in the same order. I can pick any of these cameras for the situation and get identical images. Love my X-Pro2.

Whatever youtubers say, film simulations won't match actual film 100% (sometimes it's wayyyyyy off). If you're OK with that, then grap a Fuji camera and enjoy :)

Originally, I went with the X-T2 course that camera is better for use with vintage lenses, what I do often, and initially it had better video capabilities (what was later fixed via firmware for the X-Pro2). Didn't went for the X-Pro3 course the lack of OVF support for anything wider than 23mm was a deal breaker for me. However... up until a year or two, in my country, you could still get the X-Pro2 new in the box for about $1100. I passed on that opportunity... idiot...

Awesome piece of kit. I bought mine used, with a 23mm lens. Love it although long exposure night photography produced plenty of dead pixels. A while late a pension plan paid out so I went crazy and bought the Leica Q2. The day I went to pick up Q2 I asked the retailer to charge the battery while I went into town for a coffee. By absolute chance I dropped onto a street protest, so I dug out the X-Pro2 link to the shoot here if Interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJe5p3mqZqqBnKM let me just say I'll never sell the X-Pro2 the look and feel of the thing is perfect. The results I get from this camera are some of the best I've shot. I was an X100 series user for a long time, adore these cameras but the X-pro2 was just that extra bit special.
