Jamie Stewart is such an underrated bassist, he was integral to The Cult's success.

The early post/punk stuff was the best. I remember listening to them in the radio for the first time around 1985 and blown away by what I heard. I never knew how important a drummer was to their sound. I put Nigel Preston up there with the greats

I've said this before on YT and I'll say it again. Last year I moved house and accidentally threw out my Dreamtime and Lyceum chrome tape. This live album is so underated. Production, the band's timing and rarely ever dropping a note. Astbury's singing was top form. Glad they did definitives of these songs as The Cult.

There is something great about this early stuff.... Billy Duffy's Gretsch White Falcon with this delay (and this cool flutter effect).... everything so raw but maybe more thoughfully abstract and intellectual with the lyrics .... the 1984 Lyceum is one of my favourite live recordings of The Cult!

Yeah, i really don't know who they were, why didn't the integrity of this style carry them on. Instead they put out some weird ACDC crap, and then i saw Wives of Rock or something and Billy Duff had this Bimbo wifestyle life in some posh living condo scene of fake ass greedy people. It's still a mystery to me. I would like to think they got replaced by Illuminate clones and the original guys were eliminated to save mainstream society. hahaha.
