I met Ian the singer once in the late 80's and sat in a café chatting with him for an hour. He had some interesting stories.

Back in the 80s MTV used that baby baby baby in the song as part of their commercial

The cult are badasses. I've seen them live 4 times. Great performances

Life is weird. Watching Death Cult, along with about 80 other people at some point in 83/84 there was certainly nothing going on that said " stadiums in a few years " Fair play to Ian & Bill, they took a risk & it paid off big time.

The Cults electric was the best album AC/DC never made. All the songs therein are fantastic.

Interesting take Brad on "Start Me Up". Yeah the riff sounds a little bit similar. You're developing quite the ear pallet. The Cult started off as sort of atmospheric goth rock in the first album. The lead singer is definitely influenced by Jim Morrison. Their sound on this album was produced by Rick Rubin (also produced Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers along with lots of hip-hop). They went back to their classic rock roots and to me sound a lot like Led Zeppelin or AC/DC. I liked their earlier albums which were much more original. This album was still very catchy though and got a lot of success

Yes, to me a definite feel of the Rolling Stones here but also many other 80's rock bands ...

Lead singer Ian Astbury went on tour with the remaining members of the Doors in the early 2000’s as lead singer. he was a good fit.

Been watching you guys since the early days on that other channel - and Brad, you have absolutely expanded your palate. It's been a fun journey to watch. Got to see these guys at their peak opening for Metallica back in '89. Sadly, it was not one of their best shows. Oh well. Keep on keeping on, man...

Damn, I was so relieved when I found out about The Cult in the late 80's. The music offerings then were not so great for me. I heard these guys and Sound Garden and my smile came back again!

The Cult was like AC/DC, the Stones, Led Zep, The Doors, all put in a blender, with a little goth vibe thrown in.

Good song but I like the older post punk gothic rock Cult better. This when they started to change their style to a more hard rock sound like AC/DC.

Not a bad song on the entire album!

"Upside down psychotic reaction" -- perhaps a lyrical nod to The Yardbirds and the Count Five here, but otherwise, um, I don't think love is what she's draining from him...

Sounds a bit too much like Start me up by Rolling Stones in the beginning, but the vocals made this song imo.
