I love how gurus like to call college and formal education a scam, yet you end up spending $50,000 on some cheap ass videos teaching you absolutely nothing. I'm not a big fan of universities (even though I've got a bachelors degree) but you can't deny that a degree or something like that is ALWAYS some sort of asset. It may not be crazy powerful, it may not make you unique, but it certainly puts you in a better position than that madness here. PS: this wasn't a vouch for college or anything, I'm an entrepreneur myself, but at the moment we see a little too much of that "university bashing" in my opinion. At least here in Germany (or Europe in general) where universities don't cost a fortune its a viable option.
@elijahhmarshall4 жыл бұрын
I'm the US they can ruin your life with a scary amount of debt, HOWEVER, in the event that you choose a lucrative career (many these days don't) you will make that back easily. Also people look down upon community and state colleges here even though the majority of the time they offer the exact same degree for a fraction of the cost. -P.S. contrary to popular belief many community colleges in the US are extremely cheap and sometimes free. You can often even transfer credits from community college to a university so you only need to pay full tuition 2 of your 4 years.
@Tina060193 жыл бұрын
When you go to college, pay attention and study diligently; learn public speaking, learn to do proper research, to read critically, and to write well. Study mathematics and learn the scientific method. These are seriously useful skills in all walks of life. You can do this with two years of study at a decent brick-and-mortar community college.

Jimmys People get to have low points. You can be at a super high point and still fall for such scams. People who go on vacations fall for scams after they agree to go for a free lunch! And these are people at the peak of success. They go on a holiday to celebrate. Checked in some posh hotel and the scammers invite them for a free buffet. In a period of 2 hours, they just lose huge amounts of savings. I dont want to answer my own question. My point was, we have all these videos exposing the fake gurus. But having too many videos about them is basically Glorifying their success. This is not an Expose or a Revelation as the videos may seen. This is pure entertainment and the victim is the star. What should fascinate what makes people so gullible or stupid. While these scammers are bad... the thought of people suing them for every penny they have is like saying we need to reward people for their stupidity. I feel sorry for them. But I dont have to. There are more things to cry about, than people who are in hell because they chose to gamble.

I am one of the lucky ones, I fell for his sales pitch while very depressed. However when I started getting into the facebook group and the first two weeks, red flags all over. I have been spending a lot of time listening to sceptics like telltale atheist, logicked etc as well, so I had learned a bit about the warning signs of cults. I chose to stick around until the second week, and honestly when we started to do mantras I just feigned ignorance and asked for my money back just in the nick of time. I had to push a bit, but after I was scolded for "being something wrong with me" just because I said "I dont think this is for me, just want my money back" to my handler, I ended up actually getting the cash back. What I also was doing at that time was gathering essentially evidence for fraud by screencapping everything I could just in case I didnt get my cash back, but I did get it back. One of the dumbest things I saw while on that "dont ask stupid questions" facebook page was an argument for why 10.000 dollar watches were better than 1000 dollar watches. Really appreciate the discussion towards the end around @51:00 about trades and adding real value to the world with your work. I think it’s a really important insight that not just the fake gurus, but also the lifestyle and ethic that they sell contributes nothing at best, and at worst is parasitic. Anthony’s right, the ethic they teach is that you have to screw over others to make it, and discussed earlier how that attitude has the potential to overtake one’s whole personality, as opposed to working on a crew or a team to accomplish something irl which is completely the opposite. Also as a fellow Minnesotan, I agree the gas prices are through the roof up in there in Canada ya know. You’re doing much good with this channel, Godspeed.

I think a lot of people are taking by the surprise this is a thing. I watch them for entertainment and informational purposes. I have a strong hatred for scammy practices involving money due to encountering things like this about 10 years ago. This doesn't surprise me at all as I've seen all these types of practices before youtube even started. MLM has been doing these practices for years. Before youtube, they use to use CD's you listen to, actually they still do. Organo Gold is one. They aren't scammy but people in it behave scammy (it's coffee selling MLM pretty much) and they have Mantra type practices. Money is too important to throw away and greed is bad but greed that steals millions is evil. I wish Dan Lok nothing but ill. Lose all his money, get sued and lose the case, anything IF he does not get right on this and try at least to give some money back and stop doing this.

because sitting in jail will yield you compound interest on your assets if you have any left over after lawyer fees. remember just because you get a high cost lawyer that it doesn't mean he's good at his job. reputation is everything. Dan Shmok hooks people by image and ego. he can pivot a direct question like he was playing professional basketball. I remember Dan getting asked if he's a scammer and he replied no I'm giving all of this away for free... right... in an image driven world can you really be surprised that people fall for this kind of stuff. * The truly sad part is people who are in desperate need for help are usually the ones who get suckered in.. because time is against them and they need help fast. the only "guru" you should trust is a family friend of relative who has done this as a career, mastered the profession and even then they won't have too much time for you. doesn't matter if you pay them $100,000. You will need many hours under their guidance and their time costs a lot because you can't get time back, a day spent on you by a millionaire or billionaire is a big deal. the only mentor that i would trust is the one who would teach for free; or give back to his/her community because that's how you know the person is legit. well you'll never know for 100%. The closest guru I've seen was Adam Khoo he gives droves of detailed information even shows his trades sometimes losses and winners. but even he has classes for sale now that he hit the USA market. he has been teaching in China for years and he has a pretty net worth.

A lot of what you talked about in this is what I experienced during my time with that company. Thank you for sharing your story! It feels good to know others have gone through the same things
@ptbball84 жыл бұрын
They sell the programs as something that will get you to achieve your dreams even tho most of the mentors you get in the programs are broke, insecure, and ironically not emotionally intelligent. They call themselves an "emotional intelligence training" but they never teach you how to be emotionally intelligent, they only put you through brainwashing experiences that evoke highly intense emotions. I can attest to everything that both Garrett and Anthony shared, I joined HTC earlier this year and its been nothing but upsells and more upsells. They promise the world but deliver nothing of value. I know people who have taken out of their retirement savings to attend Closers in Black and others who have sold their home to pay for the constant upsells. Now, HTC will increase their price from $2,500 to $10,000 and so far only a handful of people have signed up. What are they going to do about this? Try sell HTC at $10k over the phone and if they can't get the prospect to pay then drop the price to $2.5k. They say their an education company but their actions reflect their true intent, more and more students are seeing past their facade and dropping out of inner circle every day.
