I'm more worried about the lack of offense and pressure via team speed. The team is really feeling the loss of McCloud, Foegele, Holloway and to a lesser extent Broberg. ie. We're looking super slow and really old out there. The goaltending will always be based on how good the team defense and shot suppression is because the goalies are average at best. Philp I liked though. I don't see how we can't keep him in the lineup. I'd actually have Lavoie in there as well. We need speed, size and grit. I wasn't big on Stetcher but we definitely need him now. The preseason is always brutal for cup contenders. Montreal has a ton of hype behind them for instance and a ton of media support and fanfare.

Truly a testament to the excellence of Pickard. Without whom, you get used to the red light. But seriously, they mostly all sucked. Trying to win while going at 50% for long periods isn't a winner. I'm not seeing much of anything good at all in this game, but it is preseason. I rate this as 5 stinky hamburgers. 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔

I couldn't agree more, I'll go one further.... I quit watching game 7 after the 1st period, I recorded it and went to bed I just about had the nerve to watch it over the summer, I just can't do it 😔 I realize there are far more important things than hockey in the world...but still. 😔

Go for Swayman? None of the Edmonton goalies are winning them the cup. Last years weak game 7 winner through Skinner would haunt me for the rest of my life as a goalie.

We actually dominated the game mostly except when they got the puck it went into our net!…Rodriguez was really awful!…I pray skinner is better and our defense !

The off-season signings started out with a bang , but fizzled away shortly after based on the current roster, Browns inability to have any impact is a 2 part issue, hes not able to fill the void of toughness or actually fill a spot on the back end, you can have all the skill in world, no team wins purely on skill ever, just look at the goals tonight 1 goal from a D man on a PTO , 1 goal coming off a 5 on 3 The Kraken have lunch pale guys up and down the roster they put up 6 goals on hard nosed plays, i think the oilers need to make a trade soon , the offersheets completely through a wrench in their plans

This game coming up against vancouver will say a lot. Not that comfortable with the defense either. Or goaltending.

Looks like the same team in terms of deficiencies with lesser quality parts. Barbie Bimbo D and fancy boy hockey. Trade deadline is going to be huge this year for a full Cup win.

Well, it is preseason - would you rather Drai and McD go full bore in preseason and get hurt? They are trying to stay healthy, roster is pretty much set with only 4th line center and a couple of D spots open. Now, if they are playing like this to start the real season......

Why would Jeff Jackson sign brown to a million a year contract when he doesn’t look good at all!…geez!…I thought when Jackson made those moves they were good moves but not after we lost broberg and Holloway!…

Broberg scored a nice goal last night! Holloway has 3 goals already this preseason! Too bad it's for the ST Louis Blues!!🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂hahahahaha! Baldy and Beardsley are going to cry a lot this year. How can you screw up a SC contending team just ask Oilers management. Lose 3 defenseman and lose your youth speed and depth!!!

great analysis, but still can't understand why didn't Emberson play with Nurse, why was Skinner rested again, and why use Rodrigue so much in 3+ games, and annoy all the big guns by not using SSkinner and getting 6 goals?. Rodrigue played really bad, every 3rd shot was a goal.
