just back from the cult show, it was great. Ian was very communicative, even noticed stoned fan going crazy in the front row, joking about him and giving him bottle of water from the stage

this video was shot with an Iphone and it doesnt get across how loud and powerful they really were. great stuff, you could feel the bass going through your bones.

At the end you hear him say cleanse the energy, that's because Billy Duffy asked for a Palestinian flag to be removed from the crowd. Nearly caused a riot or at least it would have done if the crowd hadn't been so old.

In all fairness, anyone that has a problem with a flag needs to look at himself, he was right.. a music concert isn’t about politics, flying a flag isn’t political. Would he have done the same if it was a tri-colour? I think not..

@@RobertvanderBroek Perhaps at this current moment in time waving a Palestinian flag might be a bit political. I'd waited 40 years to see The Cult. I really didn't;t want to see any flags; perhaps The Cult flags would have been ok though.

I was there. Flag bearer had no interest in music. Vibe was spoiled by the interaction. Marches are for protest... festivals are for music 🎵

I was there, the only 2 people to have a problem with the flag were you and the Zio Guitarist. It was he who ruined the vibe.

I understand the sentiment. But I had a million things to do the morning of the gig; dog to kennels, check tickets, pack rain gear, wallet etc etc. And not for a moment did I consider bringing along my Palestinian flag. To me it's beyond odd, but again I understand peoples feelings. But can they not be kept to protests, and events pertaining to the protest. That one flag could have caused a lot of trouble. And again going back to getting ready to attend the gig, I remember seeing that you should not bring an umbrella. But apparently you could bring a Palestinian (or any other) flag. And I'm assuming the owner of said flag didn't;t proudly walk up to the festival entrance, flag on full show. It was concealed and brought in so as to not be detected. And one flag. one flag? Not much of a protest really.

I think the effort was worth it though. I thought ocs and EMF were very good also. I remember EMF reacted positively to the flag.

same here I waited a long time to see the cult. I saw them in the O2 in London a couple of years ago. not a good show they were supporting Alice Cooper. Forest Fest in general was much better.

Totally, the hare Krishna, cleanse the energy stuff was a bit OTT. 😮💨🙄 But otherwise brilliant.
