She didn't get served. He stopped her from making a point that was valid. Also those black ppl don't gotta do everything. They can specialize in something. You don't go to your dentist to get bone fragments removed. Or go to the trash company to move furniture out your house
@AK-ZL1
@AK-ZL1 10 ай бұрын
@vaporfoggreceptionist8744 would you go to one dentist office over another if they treated you 10x better? Would you hire a moving company over another if they were 10x nicer? The point is not that one community needs to do everything, or that anyone is expecting that. The point is to not use race as a substitute for good service in the service industry.

What the last segment showed is that people will always target the low hanging fruit. Did you know in Holland the average entry-level wage for a fast food worker is $40,000 a year. Ask yourself why when the country is racially homogeneous white folks have no problem paying people. It is all to easy to complain about the attitude of Black fast food workers. The tough but honorable thing to do would be fighting McDonald's and the other billion dollar fast food companies to make sure people are paid a livable wage. Ray even said it himself he was paid more at Chick Fil'A. I am certain that has a lot to do with their employees smiling all the time. The Chick Fil'A in my area was starting people out at $15 per hour. There are some entry-level teaching jobs that don't pay that in my area. Also, Chick Fil'A's are staffed to the nines. Chick Fil'A have at least double the workers of other fast food restaurants. That applies even on their off peak hours. 9 times out of 10 when I have been to the other fast food restaurants they are understaffed. This mindset that well I have made it, so the system is not the problem is misguided. There were Black millionaires not long after enslavement ended. That does mean the system then was still not corrupt to its core. You know the system is corrupt when you make it and the next nine Black people are struggling. There is nothing so special about me, you, or anyone else for that matter for there to be that big of a disparity. Humor me for a minute. I want you the search on KZbin "Thom Hartman Racism Broke Healthcare". Watch that video and then tell me if you really think Black people's biggest problem is the attitude of fast food workers.

You know what I think, I think it’s really hard for people to look at their culture objectively and apply some criticism towards it. When it happens, it’s refreshing and unexpected. This is still a great country, you can make money in this country if you work hard. You just pointed out that you can make $30,000 a year at Chick-fil-A with essentially no skills. Just imagine what you can accomplish with a little bit of skill, a little bit of hard work, and a little bit of ingenuity. I think the most damning thing for people these days are to believe critiques like yours that make it seem hopeless for any American from any background they can’t make it but for government help.

Good service is a 10% - 15% difference on tip. Good service is the difference between buying the bare minimum and buying a few extra items because you feel good enough to shop around longer. Good service is the difference between driving a few extra blocks or miles so you can enjoy your time. Good service, as Ray said, is everything. I wonder why they don't teach this in public schools because they definitely teach it in private schools.

Shorty just wanted to argue because someone has a different opinion. But what was said is facts attitude and services matter. I'm a chef mt last job was at a Lutheran college. The chef was very friendly to every customer and knew everybody name that came in . When i started they had just opened the kitchen to the public. I took on his welcoming behavior and in no time we had groups of folks coming in, mostly for food, but some just to stop by and say hi. We got to know the family members of some customers. We would hang out with some of them after work. There was several children that loved to come talk to us and their parents would bring them to eat several times a week. We would frequently sample our new items. The chef always gave a little extra to most people. He would let you slide you were a regular if you didn't have all/any money.We volunteered as a team in the community. We built a following based on good behavior and great customer service. Having good food was the cherry on top, the customers paid for a safe, friendly, welcoming environment. And most of the customers were black and Latino.

Yes definitely would’ve help Tamira gather them. Both her and Ray had valid points. Can’t get mad at her for grouping a race when Ray grouped a race. Literally the Asian culture created generational wealth in low income minority neighborhoods hating low income minorities. Following minorities around their stores, shooting and killing black children accusing them of theft and we still spent our dollars with them. To Ray’s point I’m also not spending my dollar with you because we are the same color. I love the culture but I’m huge on customer service so I don’t care if you are black, white, brown, or yellow your customer service is bad I’m not spending my money. And yes true leadership is servitude. Loved Dee’s biblical reference because she was absolutely right on the washing of the feet. Great podcast ❤

Interesting show. Ray seems to be a pretty based guy, but still has some odd views. At one point, says he would not turn his kid in if kid shot someone and escaped, and would actually help them escape, yet later makes the point that if anyone touches his sister, him and his brothers would go and kill them. Why is it OK for his kid to get away with something, but not somebody else's? He needs to look at both sides at the same time, and he is not. Tamira, she is the ultimate victim. Never her fault. Blacks can do no wrong. Blame it on someone else, has no facts, just feelings. Refuses to actually address the points that are brought up by others and just deflects everything. I laughed when Ray said "She argues with no point". Ray's rant at the end is spot on. You can tell he means it and it is raw emotion based of his personal experiences and success. I think it hit Tamira, it was the only time she actually had nothing to say because she knew he was right. Race does not matter. How you are treated does. Treat others with kindness and respect, and you will get it back. If you are in a service industry, that is what service looks like. The product does not matter, your attitude does.

Jeezy music aged way better than T.I., the still play Jeezy in the club that’s how timeless his music is. T.I. Is better lyrically and more mainstream. But if we’re talking about straight impact I’m going with Jeezy cuz he had the streets in a way ti never did

There are a few points to be made here: From the customer perspective: black people rarely get good customer service (even chick fil a is reportedly failing in that aspect) but we (black ppl) are the only group to accept poor service from every group except our own. Other groups can say and do almost anything but black ppl will be there to support them no matter what. Tamera's comment was more so concerning the power of the black dollar and how it doesnt stay in our community long. We shop everything except black and complain when the service is poor. Other groups feel no obligation to us because they know they dont have to have the same level or professionalism in order to get our money. From the business owners perspective: black people make bad customers, or we always want a discount, or we dont follow the rules of the establishment, etc. Like with the example of the guy trying to recommend his friend to a nail tech. Businesses are looking at the risk they take by engaging with "bad customers" and they are often times fighting to get past that first 3 year mark. Businesses also dont value the black dollar the way they value other group's money. Businesses bare more responsibility for their success or failure as ultimately it will come down to "did i do what i needed to do to adapt to my environment" or was i rigid in my thinking?" Black people as consumers need to think about how best to invest our money into businesses that have our best interest at heart. That may mean driving further to the hair care store, or paying a little more for the black owned restarurant and getting good service in return. Ultimately we need each other to be successful.

As a white guy, this gives me hope. It's not about race. At all. It's about the value you provide. Pick 5 different Walmarts in 5 very different neighborhoods. Watch the shelf stockers. Are they efficient? Watch the greeters. Look and see home many shopping carts are in the parking lot. Are they left in parking spaces or driving lanes....? I will go ANYWHERE I get good service and/or value and spend my money. Period. This is a core fundamental truth every American desiring success must grasp. You are not a victim, and it is not rocket science. God bless every person on this panel for the courage and honesty to have this discussion.

Shoutout to GK Cafe in Greenville, NC. A black family owned business with the nicest staff and the BEST southern food you can find (the mac & cheese is from heaven). That place is ALWAYS packed to capacity with black and white faces because they are the best southern cuisine restaurant in the area. 2nd place isn't even close.

As music influencers why aren’t we acknowledging that music influences people so you can’t say the community is lost but on the same show you give Sexy Red flowers as an artist. Music has influenced black communities especially young women by giving these influencers who are broken with low self esteem a platform negatively encouraging our culture literally getting rich in character as y’all said destroying our young women.
