This song was the one that made me want to be a bass player. When i saw the video and how cool Simon looked aded to the hypnotizing bass I was hooked and needed to get me a bass and start a band!

I was first turned on to the Cure in the early 1980's in high school. I saw them just once in July of 1986 at Poplar Creek music theater in Hoffman Estates IL when I was 17. Thank you for the cover, it helped me figure out the bass line. There is a live 1980 performance video of this song somewhere on youtube, which was also useful in figuring out some of the subtle variations played live, not present in the recorded version--and it's certainly cool to see them that young, Robert Smith with no makeup and pretty normal looking short hair.

most bass covers miss the part at the beginning and start from the drum intro, you nailed it and your sound is great

Certains diront que c'est une ligne de basse facile, ok, mais pour bien la jouer, il faut un son bien lourd, surtout bien caler ses notes et un bon feeling, j'ai retrouvé tout cela dans ton interpretation :)

this is really good, but the intro to the bass line has a bit more at the beginning if you listen really closely. a few notes before you hit the first note in this. if that makes sense haha. But this is an amazing performance!

You have such a wide taste in Music and this one proves it.If i scroll through your songs am i gonna find Bela Lagosi's dead by Bauhaus or maybe some Love and Rockets? Great stuff bud!

You are only a few years older than me and I remember when the cure was a new band and they brought an edgy punk pop style bass line to the scene. I always liked how Robert was way ahead of his time and today he would fit in even more with the way the young kids look. Are you using a line 6 Pod x3 or something for a DI to record with? I can't believe you have over 300 videos. I watch a new one almost everyday! I don't have your ear to play by and need tabs like a cry baby or I won't ever play.
