Simon spoiled this one on this tour by playing octaves where they didn't exist on the album version. it ruined the usually low and slinky bassline.

17 sec & Faith were the greatest! Maybe it's just me, but they never seem to fade into synth rock, or laughable time pieces. I started with Kiss Me, but I can hardly listen to that now. Disintegration is great if you remove Lovesong & Lullaby, but still not as great as those 2

Always and forever, thanks to Britain and the British people whose creativity since the 1960s has given the rest of the world hundreds of prodigious bands such as The Cure and a music of beauty, a quirk and an atmosphere like no other. What would our lives be without British groups ?

I was at this show. When they played 'All Cats are Grey', it was really ethereal and haunting... more than what you see in the video. The whole foggy atmosphere, the reflective music had the power to just transport anyone to another place. The whole 'Faith' album set list was the best in the trilogy concert, if I can be honest. The album- 'Faith' really sounds like how it looks and means what it says. It may be considered to be monochromatic but perhaps it is the most emotional and deepest of all Cure albums (even 'Pornography'). These are not songs for entertainment- in fact at times, it is a difficult to listen for even the ardent of fans but something that offers kind of a reflection and solace to the listener. P.S.: Maybe something trivial to all those reading this but I was standing in the exact row right at the top (Standing Gallery) at the Royal Albert Hall. I was in full Cure attire, long black overcoat, dark red shirt with powdered face and lipstick (just for this particular gig). I perfectly remember the moment Robert Smith was looking towards us at the very top. Here it shows in the video clearly. :- D

He shared a plane flight with Robert, and suggested the idea of playing the 'Faith' album live. Robert suggested back they performed 'Three Imaginary Boys' 'Seventeen Seconds' and 'Faith' in their entirety. A couple months later Robert was putting the shows together. I read it in a recent interview with Lol

Haha - that's exactly what went through my head too. I read an interview with Roger O'Donnell. Apparently they alltreated him really badly. He was trying hard to cut down on his drinking during the Disintegration sessions and they'd do everything in their power to get him as smashed as possible. According to O'Donnell. Then he got kicked out of the band for being an alcoholic.
@EarthKandiSoap8 жыл бұрын
They were very cruel to him. Robert Smith admitted in an interview that had he been Lol's lawyer when he got taken to court, he'd have won the case instead of lost, and that they mentally tortured Lol, probably not realising the damage being done. But due to Lol's not remembering so much, none of that came up in court. Very sad. I'm so glad they reconciled, because Robert and the Cure mean a lot to Lol, and always did.

Boris Williams had such a magic touch. Sorry but Jason sounds like a machine compared to the personality of Boris' 1/4 beat delay. I happened to hear all cats are grey yesterday and from the very start of this video it seemed "off" then I realized it was too "on" meaning it's all the same rhythm , no pop! Edit. It was even Laurence Tolhurst that did the original better than this monotonous beat. .
