This whole concert is a standout performance, but 'Sinking' (01:03:25) is so beautiful. Not normally a song that is one of my Cure favorites, but something about this version. Awesome.

The video version of this concert is the only VHS cassette I still own. No way to watch it anywhere anymore but I just couldn't give it away. It's my favorite concert video ever. One year later, in 1987, I stood at the exact spot in Orange where the stage had been set up the year before, and just quietly celebrated that the Cure had been there :D

I found my old vhs copy the other day,i must of watched it so many times i,m surprised it still works. Probably as far as any of their live gigs that is available to watch this must be one of their best,the venue was perfect almost other worldly,and a perfect backdrop for the band.I once met BORIS WILLIAMS in a bar in my hometown not realising it too was his hometown and he was back visiting family,strange one,lovely down to earth guy

Same here. Got this concert in VHS. Crazy, this concert tour was when Robert had his head shaved. My friends and I freaked. His hair was a trade mark. But loved his new look. IN ORANGE is an amazing concert. Thanks for upload.

The Cure in Orange and Paris Concerts are my two favorites for them, as excellent, concise snapshots in time of what I believe are some of their finest live music sets. ...However, that said, if you have never seen them live yet, don't miss the opportunity when it comes... Robert and the Cure in their various line ups over the years always play a great show. Robert always puts everything into his shows. Saw them at the Patriot Center in Virginia in 2007 and they did more than 3 encores including full albums! Always worth it. Thanks for posting!

My favourite concert by one of my favourite bands. Instantly converted when BBC showed Cure In Orange approx. 1989 I taped it on a whim, A STRANGE DAY became my favourite tune. I think I`ve watched my copy blank, best bit two Goth Moshers during A Strange Day one Blonde and One Dark nearly knock each other out and then start fighting while dancing. LOL EPIC

got this classic concert on dvd from the original vhs version recorded in late 1986 at the theatre antique d'Orange in the French countryside of orange Vaucluse. Captures the band at their peak the location was a masterstroke a perfect back drop for the bands voice.

millingtonpaul1 the Smiths have a few very good songs but nothing like The Cure’s versatility and invention. From 10:15 to The Caterpillar to Hanging Garden to Snakepit to Fascination Street, their 1979-89 songbook is sans pareil. Maybe The Talking Heads rival them from that era, not the Smiths

Top 3 concerts ever for me. "Strange Day" from a BBC late-night recording on VHS I made of this WAY BACK (1989) became my favourite tune ever, I watched the tape bare especially the two Goths "moshing and knocking fXXk out of each other" to this, one blonde and one dark, brilliant. About time they brought it out on DVD or BLU RAY, even though I know there are problems with the audio quality and the visual aspect-ratio, I don`t care. We need this now!.

I was 14 in 1988 when a friend of mind rented the VHS of this for me and I got it for myself probably a year later, I have seen this concert probably a million times and the same VHS tape sits on my bookcase all these years later...I don't think there was a better time to be a Cure fan back then, discovered them in late 87 and still my favorite band...great video!

My godfather sent me this VHS as a gift from California, where he used to work and I still have it almost 30 years later; we didn't own a VHS format VCR back on the day, so a friend of mine transferred the tape to a SonyBetamax Video and my brother-in-law had a Toshiba linear Stereo VHS system and he recorded the audio in a CrO2 type II TDK audio cassette (some songs were ommited to fit on a 90min tape); so I used to listen the show whenever I wanted in my sony walkman, I was 17 and, yes, those were very very happy days in my life listening to this amazing collection of Songs.

I used to have this on vcr. It accidentally got lost in the shuffle with an ex. Then the next one got jealous and threw it away. Sorry about that. If I had it then I would've converted it to DVD and put the concert out there visually put it out there for everyone to see. Visually this is stunning as well. :D

What is your Cure albums Top 13 ? for me: 1st Disintegration (the best album ever recorded), 2nd Faith (so emotional, perfect goth velvet) Wish at 3rd (perfect pop and my first Cure tour). Pornography is less emotional than Faith for me. (but it comes at 4'th ;-) ) at 5th Kiss me (what a versatile talent), at 6th The Top (Robert's personal psychedelic oeuvre d'art album) 7th 17 seconds (cold sound reflexion perfection), 8th The head on the door (the exploding band ;-) ), (at 8th comes Japanese whisper as well) 9th Wild mood swing (very good when you listen again), BloodFlowers at 10th (less inspired BUT there is the incredible Watching me fall! ), 11th TIB (because the others are best lol! ) 12th 4:13 dream (very less than the others) 13th : The Cure (awfull mix, agressive, screamed, hate it)
