It sounds a lot like Can's Future Days album, which I discovered 20 years ago, when you discovered these. You should hear that song and band if you've not done. Blatantly a major influence on the music. No other band is quite as good as Can are it seems. They different.

I forgot all about this masterpiece! It was the best album that ever appeared on the Barnes & Noble playlist of music I could select from while working in the music/movie section. Rehearing the first track sounds just as good as it did back then. It was a rough time for me in my life and while it kind of makes me feel sad again, it reminds me of how nothing ever stays the same. The horns at the end take me to another universe.

I know the trending joke is to make fun of the elderly with music but no joke I saw them live and jammed to this song with a 72 year old lady. Never too old to keep it moving and grooving 😎

there's no age for music, you discover them or start to appreciate some when the time is right for you. My niece hated Pink Floyd when she was young, too slow so old people music until one day I visited them and she and her friend were laying down on the carpet of the living room listening to "Wish you Were Here" , looked at her and said... oh! now you're also an old people :P lol I also made her discover the TC and she is chilling on them by the fire pit in their yard :)
