I love how Robert Smith was like "No we're The Cure of the 80's". That's what makes The Cure so good, they have a good imagination and don't need to be compared to anyone, they're their own unique band.

To be fair, they were a big stadium band by the end of the 80's... Their sound also massively evolved after the first 2 albums. They were punk/post punk at the start, very raw and energitic compared to the goth sound they became famous for.

A true 💎 a “ raw” cure but very well coordinated and lol on drums 🪘 was excellent, they as a trio were absolutely brilliant ! It’s those types of performance 🎭 that would be a testament of what a great band was evolving at the time , and of what was still to come . 😎

Clearly, the 80's, especially 1980-1982 was the best years for me with the Cure. Seventeen seconds, Faith and Pornography, these 3 albums are so great. And later, more later, Disintegration was in the same way, it's just my own opinion. Thanks so much for this video, I love it.

May 31 @ Moda was beyond my wildest dreams!! Almost no empty seats :) Returning by light rail north, the kinetic energy on those packed cars was palpable!!! I think in the early days The Cure were more readily accepted by the French and the Dutch more than even their home turf in the UK. In fact even places as far as Australia and New Zealand got their music in ways that clearly were more receptive than their native land.
