Oh wow, I was at that show. I was backpacking around Europe (I'm Canadian), wound up at Hostel in Gryon Switzerland and caught a ride with a couple girls driving to the festival. I bought a bottle of Paleo Red wine (The festival had their own bottles of wine), sat on the Hill and watch this Cure show. Amazing show. Thanks for posting this. Thanks for the memories.

My first taste of magic was The cure in san Francisco 84 85 the beginning of my will to live and find my true love stories. Takes my breath away and I am sooo making it to cali July 27 and bring the soul to the infinite beginning of this journey. Thank you universe for this blessing and magic miracle sign. Since JASON COOPER entered the band, the drum sound went to hell and the band declined more and more with boring drum patterns. Where are the interesting drum sounds and rhythms like the ones in Closedown, Last Dance, WCIBY, Close to me, Sinking, The Snakepit, The Kiss, Open, High ??????????

All the drummers of the group are very good drummers, each with the style. You quote us from songs, kept silent really listened to Trilogy? You listened to the version of The kiss? Yes, it's true ... Boris is a freaking drum god and Jason is not ... but Boris left, and it's not like Jason sucks, he's just not Boris-level. We got spoiled. It's not like the songs are now terrible, just not AS great. We'll live. And so will the Cure. Hell I miss Porl in this vid, too.

(25 years later…) I just feel like he’s not a good fit. I almost stopped watching this several times because his playing. He has improved, but I just hate his style. It’s very loose. Lol was simple but effective. Andy was a monster player. Boris was a god. Jason…is one of the main reasons I rarely listen to anything post 1993 (records or shows). I also didn’t enjoy Porl’s contribution after he rejoined the band. I love Reeves, and it’s obvious that he has breathed new life into the band…they’re all so much better and more intense live than they used to be, especially Robert. Blah blah blah.
