I never listened to the lyrics when the Cure played this way back when. The first time I sorta heard the song was when 311 covered it ten years later, then 10 years later comes Adele and the song brings me to tears- just saying' maybe I just wasn't ready to understand what "love you always" meant way back then when I first heard it and yeah, I really had a hard time taking them seriously when I looked at them. Sometime between the Cure and 311, I met someone I was on love with "for now" who s

I keep coming back to this lol, I think this is better than the album version since the 'I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU' sentence takes a higher pitch towards the end, which makes it more serious and sincere, rather than the album which is like a day dream!

One of the best live performances of 'Love Song'! Robert Smith was pouring his heart on this version. Interesting fact- The origins of this song in terms of music came from Simon Gallup's demo prior to the recording of 'Disintegration' album.

I was so not into the Cure in the '80's because it didn't jibe with my peers. Secretly, I loved them. Now it is great that I am (musically) out of the closet. LOL. Ironically, most of those guys love the band now too. Great music IS!

I know that there is another version of this song but I just can't find it! I remember it was 2002, 2003 when I herd it first on the radio, it was much better version of this song... It's more like a electornic rock with great solo in the middle of the song. and it's long almost 5 minutes. O.o So if someone maybe knows that other artist of this song (or version) please let me know (send me a msg here on youtube)

Good performance of a very poignant song. I am in a church band & it just occurred to me that you could sing this song to God as well as to another person. It would be a great, heartfelt change-of-pace in a lineup of otherwise standard religious tunes.

How many times times can a band play the same song and not and want to move on from it? Would it be fair to say that this is The Cure's signature song, just as so many other bands have their own? Some bands move on, but some don't. For me, and those who love the song as if it's being heard for the first time...we of course want it to continue.
