Your next Cure song should be Just Like Heaven, my favorite of theirs.

Not only did Tim Burton base Edward Sizzorhands on RS, he wanted The Cure to do the music for the movie. They couldn’t because of timing. Also, this song was never meant to be on the album. Robert Smith nor the band wanted to include it, but the producer insisted.

Ah, love The Cure. RS has such a unique vocal style. Lots of good tracks to check out. Lullaby is great, The Twilight Garden, so many to choose from. ☮️

One of the great creative bands from my teenage years. The Cure have so many fantastic songs, you need to check out more. Add "Friday I'm In Love" to your list, it's great!

The Cure is Adele's favourite band actually. I gained massive reapect for her when I heard that. You really should check some of their more typical darker/heavier sound, for which they are mostly known and loved. I would heavily recommend that you listen to "A Strange Day" and " Cold". Really awesome stuff.

Robert Smith vocals have so much emotion and angst. You should check out their album "Mixed Up" they reworked their hit songs into a different sound with many have extended time. Hard to give just one recommendation as all are great. The sound is great. "A Forest", "Pictures of You" and "Lullaby" are good ones to start with.

High school sweethearts eh? Sometimes you get lucky. My husband and I are looking at the 50th anniversary of our first date next month-just bizarre. We still feel like the same people in many ways and I really enjoy the resurgence of all the 70s music (in particular) on KZbin! 🎶🎤🎸🎹

Robert Smith was an inspiration. Apparently Tim Burton wanted The Cure to write the music for Edward Scissorhands but they were otherwise engaged. I always wondered if 1980's Blixa Bargeld ( Einstürzende Neubauten) also influenced the look.

@@SaeedReacts. The Crow (which they did a song "Burn" on the soundtrack) and Sandman were also inspired by Robert Smith.

This song is a masterpiece, and one of my favorite songs. The album that it's on, Disintegration, came out the year I met husband, so you can see why Lovesong is so special to me. You must check out Adele's cover, too!

I subscribed to your channel because of your Cure reactions. Next up you have to react to their song This Twilight Garden, which Rick Beato brought to the public attention as the best Cure song ever recorded. An obscure one though as it ended up as a b-side * the band is well known for having b-sides that are often even superior to the album tracks. The song is probably not only of the Cure’s best songs, but one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. Quite a statement, but true.

Sitting here thinking he looks like Edward Scissorhands in this video, then reading the other comments about Tim Burton. Well then.

He also inspired the look of The Crow and Sandman.

According to Robert Smith, this song was written from such a personal perspective, that was embarressing to release as a single. and to perform live. If you look closelly as the song is being performed in the video, the stalagmites are very phallic-they all resemble penises. Look closely as it was done intentionally to add humor to the song to ease the anxiety over performing such a personal song live in front of huge audiences. Thanks for another great reaction. My favorite cure song is "Just Like Heaven" from my favorite Cure cd, "Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me". They are amazing.

Snake River Conspiracy did a much darker version of the melody for this song that I prefer. I’ve always thought this song feels more like love lost. Interesting to hear he wrote it for his significant other

And of course if there’s an amazing classic song there’s a Tori Amos cover. She’s done it different ways through the years but the starkest is prob the 1996 versions on harpsichord. It’s frenetic almost like the love has crossed a line into dangerous obsessive levels. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jofSlWSoprOpqJY

There are so many remakes of this song: Tori, Adele, 311…., but Tori’s is definitely a great one. Any time she puts her own sound on someone else’s song it ends up fantastic.
