For this album review, The Cure deliver an album after sixteen years reminiscent of their past legacy, a heartbreaking gothic contemplation of endings.

So glad that Simon Gallup didn’t leave after he almost did that in 2021, because this album is easily the thickest bass tone he’s had in his career. Obviously Robert Smith is the star of the show but I’ll give Simon a lot more props in here.

thanks to Simon, Slowdive has amazing bass lines. Their bassist, Nick Chaplin, loves Simon and the influence shines through

Mark I am one of those people who is relatively new to The Cure and enjoyed this album greatly, and I want to say your review isn’t pointless because you gave me a mini template for what to check out next with them! Keep up the good criticism! Goodness knows it’s in ever shorter supply nowadays.

This was my very first album of The Cure. I’ve gotten into some of their albums since. It’s amazing how much quality music they have.

Really loved this album, it being so good that late into their career is nothing short of miracle

I am a new fan of this band- I started listening to them around 2021 with "A Head On The Door" which is one of my favorite albums of all time alongside P****graphy and Disintegration (tho I do need to finish their discography). When I think of post-punk, I think of the Cure and the expansive walls of sound that it can make. I'll admit that this album in particular hit a raw nerve with me this year and it's going to be one of my favorites of the year. This album is truly about endings to its core, and sometimes its hard to not start tearing up when you know that the end is near. A song like "And Nothing Is Forever" might become an all timer with the passage of time- such a fucking unbelievably beautiful plea of a song.

I think it's not a complimentary thing for the current music scene that The Cure in their sixties and with their old tricks put imo a better album than almost anything out there

When I first heard this, I was not surprised at the critical acclaim because it sounds exactly like Disintegration to my ears. I'm the weirdo whose favorite album from them is Pornography,

I saw The Cure about a year before this album dropped on its promotional tour. That was a great show!

Something I forgot to bring up when I talked about this album on Mark's other channel is that if they were gonna go have all the songs be longer songs, they should've had at least a few of them do the Bohemian Rhapsody thing where they commonly change the way they sound. But no. Keep in mind that I liked this album.

Lol it's a shame this comeback album has nowhere near as much hype or praise as the Linkin Park comeback.

Great review man 🐈 glad you enjoyed the album i would agree that it's very good but dont think it compares to disintegration I've noticed a lot of people have been comparing them. #1 disintegration #2 the head on the door #3 faith #4 kiss me kiss me kiss me #5 three imaginary boys My top 5 as of today. This album would be alongside wish, pornography, seventeen seconds and bloodflowers as albums i really enjoy but dont think are great. The other cure albums i think have a few good even great songs but a lot of weaker ones as well. Have only given wild mood swings and the self titled maybe one full listen though so im half basing my feelings on those on other peoples reviews lol. But yes a 7/10 album from me not their last though apparently - robert smith said in his long interview up on youtube that there'll be at least one more possibly two more albums before the end of the cure in 2029

It would've been better if you had uploaded this review yesterday. Then you could've mentioned it being Friday and referenced "Friday I'm in Love".
