I'm going to be honest. Ferran Torres is a player who would do wonders at a mid-table PL team. This isn't a testament to me saying that he isn't 'Barca' level. The issue is more complex. Understand this. Ferran Torres is still unproven. His ceiling seems decent but still below Yamal or Vitor Roque. From what I've seen, I don't see him starting over any of them. The only remaining option for him is bench for the majority of season. Would a player in his prime accept a bench role? With all being said, I really hope he does well.

Thank you someone finally said it instead of looking at fake optimism and favoritism. A club like Brighton or west ham or even athletico would do good for him he should’ve left not ansu. A month later and look at the 2 now. It’s been 18 months for ferran some goals here and there but never anything consistent we can’t continue with this after this season if we want to compete with the other clubs

@@Playmaka10x I partly agree. I don't see a competition between both of them because both haven't been exceptional. If Fati excels in shooting, then Ferran is also decent in quick passes in final third. At the end of the day, it's like apples and oranges. I want to see both of them succeed but I never expect anything consistent from them. Make no mistake. None of them are 'mid' players but I feel that if any of them needed to succeed at Barca, they need to be fed chances. Xavi's system doesn't allow that. To microanalyse - any bit of creativity from midfield or wings drift towards Lewa (since our play is mostly vertical). It's difficult for a makeshift inverted winger to thrive in the system.

You did not mention the national team at all... 17 goals in 37 appearances one of the main reasons why he never lost his barsa spot was because he proved people wrong on the national stage. He almost has more goals for Spain than barsa with only half of the game time. I don't know how this wasn't mentioned.

Thank you for pointing this out. I was focusing on the way he plays for his club teams because it seems to be significantly different than he plays for Spain, but this is definitely a good point. He just seems to have that confidence for Spain that he didn't have at Barca.

@bobblylou There's some things Lewy can bring to the table that Ferran can't, and as you (I think it was you) said in another video, Xavi much prefers the pure strikers to those like Ferran or Memphis. Lewandowski when he's in form is a much better finisher, and I think Xavi is banking on a miracle of Lewy regaining form.

Ferran is truly an inconsistent player, but he has shown flashes of brilliance in a lot of games. I believe his best position is the right-hand side, as he has shown some difficulty by playing on the left and he still lacks some awareness to be the number 9 of a team like Barcelona. Today he is better as an impact sub more that a starting XI player, mainly because as a sub he changes the rithm of the offensive game, but I still see the great potential he has. In Spain he has played a lot better than how he has played in club level, and that has to do a lot with the problems in Barcelona´s midfield. I think when Xavi figures out the midfield trio that works best, all the forwards are going to excel match in, match out.

I think Ferran just needs to iron out his positioning/awareness (the ridiculous amounts of offsides he has drives me nuts), finishing (still misses stupid chances) and decision making (can be selfish) and he'll be a great player.
