Tbh, I don't blame Ten Hag in this case. He's definitely made some mistakes, but this isn't one of them. He didn't sign Sancho in the first place, he's helped him as much as he can, and if he said no comment or lied, this would still happen. Not to mention, Sancho has had history of causing issues behind the scenes at Dortmund and City.

Jadon Sancho was seriously one of the best wingers in Europe not too long ago and at the time he was only 20 years old when he was at Borussia Dortmund. He was lighting up the Bundesliga week in week out, scoring goals, making assists, his excellent dribbles close control and his nice playmaking in 3 straight seasons he managed to have 10+ goals and 10+ assists, which highlighted his ability to score goals and create chances for his teammates as a wide player. More importantly at his age, he passed the eye test with flying colors because he was so so good and he had a lot more potential left in him and looked set to be one of the best players in the world. Also there were calls for him to be a regular starter in the England national team following a run of great performances for Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United desperately needed a winger who was direct a game changer and a player who was creative and they were chasing after him for years and in 2021 they managed to win the race for him. They paid 85 million for him as it looked like they were getting a superstar player, an impactful one and a generational talent, the expectation for Jadon Sancho there was him taking his game to another level in the premier league and be a much more consistent player.

@@dondamon4669What's happened to Jadon Sancho at Manchester United after his brilliance with Borussia Dortmund, we've seen it with Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, Antoine Griezmann, Sadio Mane, Fernando Torres, Philippe Coutinho etc where at one club they were at their best and were just so so good they could do now wrong, but after they left the clubs that they had a lot of success, their level dropped massively and were unable to rediscover their touch there and their career was never the same after their respective transfers. That's football for you and it happens a lot in sports where players that go to new teams underperform and find out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and I think Jadon Sancho is finding that out at Manchester United right now.

Jadon was originally signed to play on the right, that's where he played his best football for Dortmund and where he played for England, but for whatever reason Ole decided to play him on the left and rashford on the right, I still think he's more productive than Antony, would be a shame to see him go

The issue is ETK shouldn’t have said anything. It caused Sancho to post it and created this whole situation. He wouldn’t talk bad about Antony or one of the new signings that have underperformed. I understand the injury problems but he shouldn’t let Maguire or Evans anywhere near that team. If you have to put 1 at least put AWB as the other one and another full back so there is at least the chance to close down attackers. His tactics against an Arsenal side that were poor didn’t seem to raise many eyebrows? Man U have so many problems all the way from the top to the bottom.

I think people need to realise just how good a player Bruno Fernandes is in light of this Sancho saga. He gets slated every week. I don't think he's any pundit's favourite either. But his performances and impact are there for everyone to see. He's taken the bull by the horns since day 1 and not allowed any criticism to affect his game. It takes a lot to be a Manchester United player and we've seen too many youngsters buckle under the pressure. I like Sancho and I believe the talent hasn't just vanished but there must be some personal responsibility here. If he's not at it mentally then perhaps he should engineer a move away because this is top level football and you'll get left behind quicker than how you got to the top in the first place.

On the other wing ETH prefers to have a player who is left footed to cut in, hence his insistence on Antony. A thing to know and understand with Dutch coaches and the way they work, the way you train determines if you play, I noticed lots of teams in the Prem or in general, they'll play their 'best" 11 even if someone didn't train well or is out of form. Where as with Dutch coaches and systems, training is very very important and it definitely determines if you start or not. This is why I think there's a lot more to it, ETH probably should've said nothing but my guess would be there's something deeper, I mean just the statement alone from Sancho kinda lets you know, this isn't about training, least not 100% about it.

2 years later and Jadon Sancho has seriously flopped at Manchester United and he right now is a shadow of his former self. Under 3 different coaches, he has had a lot of chances to prove himself, but has really struggled, he's sort of confidence, not scoring goals, not making the right moves/run, not taking on players and not getting assists. He's not been productive in the final third and it has caused him to be on the bench in a lot of the games last season, an 85 million player unable to get a game and because of mental issues he took some time off the team after the World Cup and is still struggling to recapture his Dortmund form. He's also lost his place in the England national team as he's farther away than ever from getting back in the national team after seeing his underwhelming performances for Manchester United. For club and country, he's out of favor and there was talk about them potentially offloading him this summer to make funds for transfers. He in a span of 18 months went from world class to squad player all of a sudden and the drop off in performance is huge. Also, the start of this season hasn't gone to plan for him at all as he was on the bench for their first 3 premier league games and he was on the pitch for not a lot of minutes, and in recent days Jadon Sancho has made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Manchester United played against Arsenal away from home and he didn't make the bench and Erik Ten Hag publicly said that he was left out of the squad due to the way he was performing in training and Jadon Sancho hit back by stating that he's been made a scapegoat and people shouldn't believe what they read on social media. Imagine hitting out at your manager for not telling the truth about an incident that led to him being dropped for a game. He's on big wages, supposed to be a difference maker for them, but has been causing a lot of problems and has done absolutely nothing there. He might be disciplined, I don't know but it's clear that he doesn't have a future at Manchester United under this manager and in the long run and he could possibly be offloaded sooner or later. For me, I'm not sure how he'll reignite his career at this football club even though he's still only 23 years old but things have gotten worse for Jadon Sancho at Manchester United and the only way he gets back to his best is if he leaves the club and goes to a team where he'll actually play and regain form and confidence.

The warning signs were there with Sancho’s attitude before he even signed for the club, never done anything good on the pitch in his time so far at United albeit a very well taken goal against Liverpool last season. At the time he made this big money move to Manchester United, Jadon Sancho was only 21 years old and he was in top form for Borussia Dortmund and considering the way he's performed there so far and how unreliable and inconsistent he's been for them, you can argue that Jadon Sancho's move to Manchester United was a little premature in some sense. The move was too soon in my opinion as yes he wanted to go to Manchester United, but for his development maybe he should've stayed at Dortmund for a little longer or join another club as now his career is at crossroads, struggling for game time at Manchester United, not playing well and is a worse player there than he was at Dortmund, and he regaining his place in the England national team, he's a long way from even doing that. At club level, he's a bit part player and isn't playing a lot of minutes and even when he does he's poor and also for his country, he's not played for them in 2 years and if he stayed at Dortmund, he'd be able to continue to produce his best football and play well and would still be playing for the England national team.

I don't think Erik was wrong in saying that the wingers he chose performed better in training than Sancho (you're not gonna take more wingers on the bench than what you need). I think there isn't a way back after Sancho's petulant demeanor putting himself before the club, manager, and fans by throwing another round of turmoil our way because he couldn't wait to speak and explore a transfer request with Erik privately the day after. Issue now is; I don't think any club wants someone who's got the potential to be this hot-headed, it's at least gonna deduct som from his price and have clubs pull out not wanting to bring that to their dressing room. I have a feeling that the “Sancho issue” won’t be as big as it seems. He still said that he’s willing to play for the badge and has a very good relationship with all of his teammates (unlike Ronaldo, who openly insulted the entire club). I think the big issue right now is Antony. Dude is on a verge of joining Prison FC right now.

Why can we not we train him as a progressive dribbling creative active midfielder, in mount/erikson position. He can do what Bruno does with more dribbling ability to get past pressure. Or just replace him, but we could try like klopp tried to evolve trent into a new role.

Sancho has to leave, especially now when Antony is there. I think there’s talent in Sancho but his not the right fit for united and I don’t even think Sancho or Antony is the best right winger at the club, I think it’s Pellestri. but since ten hag brought Antony in, he has to get him right because if he don’t it will make him look bad and the negotiators at the club also overpaid for Antony as they do for all united players, which will make it even look worse for ten hag

As a spurs fan I definitely thought United were the better team in the first half in their game. And generally from the United games I’ve watched I wouldn’t worry too much yet. I’d say the main issue is just injuries decimating their defense. I’d say with the national break and a bit of luck going forward I can still see United making the top 4 or there abouts. Sancho though… oh boy..

This is why i cant stand both Manchester clubs, and Chelsea, they sign players with no real spot on the first team for them, they just sign players for the sake of signing someone, and if they work out cool, if not they rot on the bench. The amount of high end talent that gets wasted every season between those 3 clubs is insane. You could build a very competitive mid table club out of all the wasted talent.
