Yes, yes thats my favorite. Most generations had their silly haircut and for Gen Z it's broccoli head.

Never saw a generation so eager to fit in. Every generation has their unique characteristics. Gen Z’s unique characteristic is that there’s nothing unique about them. It’s a paradox.

Well, every generation depends on the previous one to be inspired and to be supported It's the snowball effect, since the boomers you see a continuous degradation

Go back on KZbin about a decade or so ago. A lot of teachers started warning us about how weird and unprepared they were, how they couldn’t perform basic life skills (like going to the bathroom by themselves as old as a fifth grader, making eye contact, critical thinking about anything at all). They literally have no ability to discern. It’s like they live in a 2-D world. I hope they grow, but they don’t seem very open to learning, which is something that does call for hard work.

Early 2000s was the exact same uniformity. Middle part bowl cut usually dyed blond 😂 There were maybe two or three nerds in my school that didn’t look and dress exactly the same. It was also an upper class school; poor kids were literally not allowed in… The girls all had straight blond hair, low rise Mudd jeans (size 0 or you were a fatty), tight short sleeve shirt and a thong sticking up above the pant line.

Broccoli heads. My nephew has that silly haircut. My millenial generation was guilty of the stupid emo side sweep too. All generations were guilty of something silly. But Gen Z seems very self-conscious to me and very influenced by social media. One example, my nephew didn't want to wear a t-shirt while swimming in the hot sun because it was "cringe" and he didn't want to be "that guy". He got sunburnt really bad and cried like a baby after. But didn't want to cover up because that's cringe bro. So self-conscious of being "cringe".

They're in internet culture, not reality. I think gen X and millennials leaned more into self-expression and creativity. We all had our groups(jocks, nerds, goths,rockers,rap, etc), and those groups have their own expressions. Gen Z just has fewer groups, so it feels like they're mass conforming. What do you think?
@SoggyDewКүн бұрын
Judgmental much? Every generation has their own characteristics because of the years they were raised in. Gen Z came of age during the pandemic so they will adapt characteristics from that period. Millennials had the same amount of hate in the early 2010s by the older generation. Man bun and the hipster look was created by the Millennials. Gen X had their moment too in the early 2000s with the spiky hair. This phenomena will keep repeating.

This isnt new. Back in the 90s the penis head haircut was everywhere, or the mushroom cut as it was well known. Also were all running a program of some sort. Its impossible to escape. Even if you live in the mountains with Tibetan monks, your running the program of living in the mountains like a monk.

I would do an experiment for conforming, this was back when we had to get clients signing things all the time. They would come in regularly. I would put the date as dd-mm-yy, or dd.mm.yy or dd/mm/yy and see if they follow my lead or they go their own way. It was interesting to see which would copy. Yes my job was extremely boring so I had to create my own experiments to entertain myself.
