i’ve played this game ever since jd4 came out (2012), and i’ve still been playing it 12 years (almost 13) years later, but it’s still sad to see how a lot of the features the community loves are just fading out of existence. i think it also ties in with the financial state ubisoft is currently in, which would make sense, but it’s also the lack of communication (like you said) that they struggle with as well. i’m still gonna play just dance, it’s been a part of my childhood for over a decade, but it really does suck to see the lack of everything that the game has as of currently and i hope that the game can get a more positive update in the future

Awesome video! I want to add something too, and it is the lack of music choices. Just Dance hasn't done any other artists that have never been in Just Dance (like Post Malone, Chappell Roan, or even other K-pop and J-pop artists like Stray Kids, NewJeans, etc.) So many options and good songs to choose, but instead we get same artists and created songs from Just Dance that are boring and not worth the hype. Melanie Martinez was a good addition since her songs have never been in Just Dance before, and Blackpink and BTS has been in Just Dance so many times. We need new artists and songs for players to dance to the songs that has never been in the game!

Agree honestly, I've been getting back into Just Dance AND trying to now become a Just Dance creator, I feel like a lot of these concerns are understandable. It feels like there's a lot lacking, especially for JD+. And the team's usual lack of communication doesn't help. I am glad that the Twitter account is at least responding a little more after yesterday's news. But still, I am getting deeply concerned about this, especially with both Ubisoft's current state and the current state of the gaming industry. There's so many people who deeply care for this franchise so I'm hoping things get a little better soon. But we'll have to see at this point.

Just in advance: this comment is in no way excusing Ubisoft, it's just a perspective as a game dev, as someone who used Unity for a while (the current engine they use) and try to have an idea of how AAA companies run their games Overall, someone here said they keep saying the game works as a service but they don't treat it as one, and I have to agree. I'd say a lot of the problems that JD faces right now is that it feels they keep working with an early calendar to deliver a base "game" (that actually the players don't even buy, they only buy the access to the songs with the promise Ubisoft will keep the servers running), and I don't think their communication was that transparent, at least during the last years I was in the community, for them to mantain a live service and a community as active and as creative as the Just Dance one. Now, about some of the suggestions and nitpicks: - I highly doubt they'll add any mode that evolves them having to moderate anything, as it gives more work to the team (and I have no idea if they have enough people or even if the way the servers work nowadays would make it possible), so I don't see a future where Video Challenge comes back, especially as they would need to verify each and every video, along with the server storage space) - Also, if the way they use the camera sensor is the way I think they do (movenet, a tensionflow library powered by AI), I don't think they have as many resources as Kinect would provide. I get that showing the player's shadow would be helpful, but at the end of the day it made sense for Kinect because it was part of it's process, one of the informations both hardware and software would provide for for devs and that they could display in the game. I don't think Movenet works in a similar way, so recreating a shadow doesn't seem viable - I don't think Puppet Master would be possible in the same way they used to do, because when it comes to working with video in Unity (as far as I know), you can't control much of the video playback as I imagine their previous engine could, and I think it gets even more tricky when it comes to video streaming. So unless they're willing to transform some of the dances into micro-dances (splitting video and scoring files for a song into smaller "maps"), I don't see Medley coming back. Also, this difficulties at controlling video playback in Unity also makes me think that's why they're having a hard time making a World Dance Floor (I don't want to get into specifics else I'd have to be too technical) - And personally, I don't know if the sorting, showing the packs first, is a bug. I think they deliberated decided to do that in the hopes more people will buy the packs (sort of how they use to heavily display Just Dance Unlimited options in Just Dance 2019 for those who didn't have to the point they had to fix it because, if I'm remembering correctly, parents were complaining their kids were subscribing to the server without their consent) I feel like since JD2018 Ubisoft has been trying to minimize the amount of modes and simplify the experience to the extend they think most of the public will still buy it annually (and by "most of the public" I don't mean the hardcore fans, I'd say the majority of people who play the game are the ones who buy it as a fun workout or to play with friends and family, and it may not be the demographic that interested or that knows about different game modes), probably to minimize costs (and maybe it wasn't even a decision by the Just Dance team, but by the executives at Ubisoft). It's unfortunate, but I feel like the tendency is for the games to keep hyperfocusing on the maps editing and not as much in the experience as a whole, and I'm glad people are speaking of it (politely, of course), as I also feel even Ubisoft doesn't know what they want to do with Just Dance anymore or understands why it became such a popular game (but this is a conversation for another day) Sorry for the long reply, but I felt like writing

Let’s be honest, Ubisoft is terrible with their live service games, they did good with JD23, they did okay with JD24, but they’re flopping right now with 2025 I totally agree with everything you said about the communication, because I’m serious when I say I’ve actually uninstalled the game because of how dry it’s become, JD25 released in October, barely any new content has been added, and even with the stuff we got, it was stuff nobody actually wanted At this point I’m only gonna reinstall if there’s a song I actually really wanna play

I understand that they removed season due to the cut budget, it is a bummer but I understand.... So I hope that starting from february we get more than 4 returning songs per month, and prioritize the requested ones. Of course licensing issues come into play, but why have we not gotten the alts? The removed songs from JDU? The mashups and community remixes of SONGS THAT ARE ALREADY LICENSED Let's just hope that they will throw way more content in JD+ and fix the little issues of storage and playlists now that they don't need to spend so much time in entirely new content

Holy crud. I've been sent here from SoToSendCadu's video today. You've summed up so many of my thoughts about JD. There's something else about Ubisoft's marketing decisions for JD that's been bothering me. I know JD had to evolve by discontinuing old consoles as I go (rip XOne Kinect), but there's a big rift between the fans and Ubisoft ever since JD2023. Escpecially since their changes with consoles, live updates, and JD+ split the fanbase in two. I don't think they're tried to mend it. Half of the fanbase was able to switch onto the new consoles because they could afford it, but they struggled with getting used to them. Especially with the lack of camera scoring (which fits better for games with full motion body tracking like JD) until the camera update in JD2024. Now this is where I’m the most annoyed. The other half (that includes me because let's be fr, a Twitch sub is cheaper a new console and a new game) is basically stuck w/o games post-JD2023, either playing the old games, using YT gameplays, or playing alternate franchises. In my case, an addition to using YT I switched over to Dance Central because a single Dance Central Spotlight was also *way* cheaper. I've noticed a couple people like AVS and rfm - two of the biggest JD channels affected by the 2019 fullscreen policy, which backfired btw - quietly left the fanbase after a while. I guess they couldn't get the newer consoles since they were so costly in addition to the games and JD+. The past couple JD videos from rfm were behind-the-scenes videos, but even you could tell he was losing motivation with how short those videos were before he stopped uploading *anything*. For all I know, they've both moved on and we lost some big JD influencers from Ubi’s weird marketing decisions. (Hopefully AVS and rfm are living the best lives, their gameplays were awesome) It feels like the entire fanbase is not as heard even now, and it's making us lose interest in the franchise. As someone who's been a fan since JD4, I feel so bad for the current JD players that feel like they’re talking to a brick wall. I don't want to let go of it, but I'm scared of its future.

To your suggestions i may add 4 things and it would be a perfect game : 1/ For the training mode the possibility of slowing the speed or pause and rewind so we can learn better some moves. 2/ I know they've said it would be complicated to add battle mode but i really liked it and i wish they could reconsider it again, if they're gonna add few new songs per year, they may have time to make battle dance songs too instead. 3/ For those who missed avatars, emotes and stuff from previous seasons, having them return each year to catch up things like a circle of events coming back. 4/ I agree totally the offline mode, but for music packs, if we could make our own music packs by choosing the 6 songs we want to gather and pay for keeping it permanently, i know they're going to think depending the theme but for example in the current music packs, there is one where i'm interested only in one song and i don't feel paying 10 euros for one song only.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you mentioned here. I REALLY hope they bring back the older songs. I TOTALLY agree with you when it comes to “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “All The Stars”. I also have been wanting both versions of “Boombayah”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” and “Naughty Girl (Rabbid Peach Version)” to be added to Just Dance+ for quite a while now.

Because for past 3 year since Just dance 2023 came out I am stuck max level of 50 and I am getting little tired of still have some progress to be finished but the level is not going up be we are max level 50 now.

I'm going to give my thoughts on some of the topics from the video (and I guess from our wonderful roadmap that has been the main topic for the last day or so) since I spent most of my stream yesterday talking about very similar things 😅 First of all, I unfortunately kinda figured the music packs would get involved in the season content but at the same time had a very small feeling they could replace the seasons considering the amount of songs available through the music packs is very close to the amount of songs we would get from a single season in the JD2023 era. The loss of progression/cosmetics is the part I was most upset about when I read that article for the first time since I loved working towards unlocking everything. Part of me hopes that the team will add some of the still unused avatars into the new music packs or even do a long-term progression featuring some of the older season rewards for those players that never got to get a chance at getting these currently unobtainable rewards. Next I'll go over specifically Just Dance+ since I had a small rant on this yesterday as well. After finding out Just Dance is going to split our monthly batch of 4 returning tracks into 2 batches of 2 songs, initially I was upset but after thinking it over I think its really going to help in the months where we're going to have nothing else. I just hope they have camera scoring so I can properly enjoy them 😂. Something I specifically mentioned was how JDChina managed to get licensing for all of these amazing songs and sometimes alternates for songs we had on our global JDU and Scotti brought up that it might be due to China being just a single country and how licensing might be cheaper for a single country which I didn't even think about before. Obviously now the lack of the most wanted maps makes sense considering Ubisoft's current situation but I'm hoping we can at least get a few of the maps we've all wanted for a long time in this year's JD+ batches. Out of all the things that this game desperately needs, I think it really needs an offline mode as soon as possible like The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest. What they should do is maybe allow all purchased annual editions and music packs to be able to be played offline permanently so we at least don't lose access to content we have purchased. Alright I think that's pretty much it so hope ya'll enjoy yet another essay from me LOL

For the Avatar emoticons (aka old avatars) i've always had this thought in my brain since 2023's launch if you owned a previous just dance game like jd 2022 etc just like in those older games you would still be given the old profile setup you had in that game and in 2023 - 2025 it can be displayed either as a badge or in the top right corner of your player avater in the current game I always missed my old avatar and wish it was incorporated in some way.

What I wanna see is a shop where you gain mojo or SOME kind of currency to spend it on new rewards and all or at least giving us new level progression because we running out on new things and that shop would be great to make a return of older seasons rewards... i just love the customization and we get like 2/3 of the challange rewards every year just the badges and we can only equip 4... also for new players season rewards are not unlockable... I’ve been feeling like the future of Just Dance is looking grim, and it’s nice to see a JD creator expressing their concerns about the state of the game. A few of my own issues: I was disappointed with how they decided against continuing the story in 2025E. I understand the people who don’t care/don’t want slots wasted with story mode songs, but at the state Ubisoft is in, I feel like unless they get bought out by a company who will continue making those games, we will be left on a cliffhanger permanently. That may sound like an exaggeration, but again, I’m feeling grim about the future of Just Dance. One thought that keeps crossing my mind with Ubisoft’s switch to song packs is that the new songs from those won’t be included in JD+. What little hype I have will be diminished if I can’t play (what might be) Apple by Charli XCX without paying more money. This is most likely not going to be the case since Centuries will be added (I believe it should’ve been a part of the base game rather than being a VR exclusive for a while, but that’s just me), but the fear is still there. I also believe they should at least bring back the some of the old Mashups for the songs in JD+ that do have them. The only Mashup that JDNow has is You’re On My Mind, and Ubisoft knows they exist with how 舞力无限 received 2017’s Mashups. Though I will say that this is a bit personal to me as I’ve been making Mashups myself on another channel because that was one of my favorite modes back when they were a thing. I have nothing against 2025E or the team behind it, and I wish I could stay optimistic, but this alongside the fact that I believe this is the weakest game in this current era of Just Dance, I’m slowly losing hope that the series will last for much longer after the event calendar’s roadmap is complete, if it even gets that far.

I am very passionate about the franchise and I am hopeful of the future, but the direction we are going down is going to be messy. I feel so bad for what is going on with Ubisoft financially. It is a MESS! I am going to say it, Nintendo... BUY Ubisoft, please! If not, Offline Mode please!? We are NOT going to have the mistake The Crew 1 has, not ever! Anyways, I do not mind too much about what is going on. I do hope that the Monthly Batches gets better since I am still waiting for my faves to come to JD+, and hopefully we get some features that will entertain us in the meantime. I am happy we are FINALLY getting Centuries for JD+. I do know what the new songs are for the Fitness Music Pack since it got leaked not long ago. The 3 new songs are MUST HAVES. Rest in Peace Seasons. I do hope they add Customisation Packs because we want more stuff with our Dancer Profiles.

I feel like they got to a point where they have to choose to either release an annual edition or to create live service stuff for the current edition. There’s just not enough budget to do both. Just Dance+ well… they’re not working really hard on it, despite you saying so. They’re lazy with it. Just see the pictograms full of mistakes.

i think the most important thing is just getting the game to run well. just running well!!! just scrolling through the menus is just so laggy despite the fact that it’s been years! i have never had a game crash like the new jd does. it deleted my save file twice! (due to the online nature of the game i didn’t lose any scores or whatever, but the fact it happened is….disappointing to say the least.) meanwhile im supposed to still be able to have access to unlimited since i play on switch but i can’t buy it! i’ve reached out to support and whoever i got the first time around clearly has no clue what they were talking about. i haven’t been able to follow the advice of the second person yet but it was still pretty basic advice. some of the new features are nice, but with all the bugs in not sure the move to this new format is worth it.

Yeah the jdu situation was crazy, they said 30 days was still available for people to purchase but so many regions still do not have access to this renewal.

As someone who never had JDU bc I didn’t have internet for a long time I actually didn’t mind just playing the base jd songs for the year. But once they released the rewards and seasons and now they’re taking it away it bugs me. But they made a whole game and seasons during COVID so I don’t get it tbh. Maybe Ubisoft/jd had different people working maybe that’s why the quality or features was better vs now? That does happen people Leave jobs. But I def do think the lore is going to end if we’re not even getting seasons. Doesn’t really feel like a new era that they said at 2023 announcement, base game with dances isn’t a new era lol.

I'm so happy I'm not alone in my criticisms. I've been a fan since Summer Party(JD2 dlc game). I love this series but nowadays the content is now lacking, communication is low and with the removal of seasons, contents getting lesser. But to mention the bugs and sometimes tracking. Heck, i bought 25 edition during black friday and haven't had a dance track anything since. I just get X's on every song and I'm dancing accurately. Now I have an unplayable game and Ubisoft is terrible at support communication. I love this series, but I can't play the current era and it makes me want to give up on the future. I still have 2014 to 2022 on ps4

@@namanienie123 when 2023+ released. They removed world dance floor in exchange for playing with ur friends in private groups with up to 6 ppl. Essentially local muiltiplayer but without the need to be there in person LOL. But people also want wdf back (including me) since it was such a big feature! ❤️

Some of the suggestions are just unnecessary/unreal. The only one necessary is World Dance Floor. Crazy they don’t have any updates on it, kinda like they never worked on it to begin with. One that’s like, ESSENTIAL is more Dancer Cards. Your concern about the game going offline is really real, after all, it was a Ubisoft executive that said and I quote “gamers need to get used to not owning their games”. Just Dance is in a weird spot right now. JD25 was a lot of fun but the hype dropped super fast and the roadmap is just disappointing. :/

I personally feel the reason 2023 was so hyped was because it was technically a new game. Even though there are pros for just dance being a single game from now on. The hype of a "new game" isnt the same anymore as a result. 2024 and 2025 arent technically new games, just DLC. I think thats why the hype also dropped. I am stuck on level 150 and have NO incentive to level up despite there being new editions. I agree with u, the hype did die so fast but it is still alot of fun!

@ true, the progression is a huge issue! In game there’s no goal or nothing to play towards after you reach the max level. Sure you can play to improve your dancing or to work out, but from the in-game perspective, there’s not much.

The only thing I don’t like is needing to pay for more songs when JD22 came out I got it for Xbox and there’s only a few songs For free and the rest you have to pay for it’s disappointing

@@avalynyost1498 u ALWAYS get 40 songs with every just dance game. The price you pay is what you get, that has never changed. Since the first game on the Wii you always get 40ish songs. The subscription is mainly to access the previous games songs in the newer games. U don’t pay for it if you have the older games already, u can just switch games! ❤️

I wouldn’t say boycott, it wouldn’t do much but just make the game in a worse state tbh. Just dance is already a niche game, not playing will just result in less funding for the game likely ❤
