@need metal Not only that, this particular episode is disheartening because Canadian law prohibits anyone from touching, moving or retrieving anything from the sea floor of Mahone Bay, so if the Oak Island diver(s) would do a dive and literally find a treasure chest full of gold doubloons and Pieces of Eight on the sea floor, they couldn't touch it or take any of it... LOL!!! It is time for Archaeologist Laird Niven, et al. to sit down with the "powers-that-be" of the Canadian Federal and Nova Scotia Provincial governments and work out an agreement where the ultimate goal for "professional" Oak Island searchers is not to get rich by finding and retrieving treasure, but to completely solve the Oak island mystery in all its aspects. The Laginas, etc... would be richer and more famous by far by doing the latter.

Oxen were and in some places still used for plowing. They probably found the barn/corral location where the oxen and horses were kept for the island. Finding those things is like finding tire shreds next to a highway. It is indicative of nothing special. Next week, they likely will locate another pit which went under an outhouse and declare it another treasure shaft. When an outhouse pit gets full, the farmer digs a new pit, moves the outhouse over it and takes the dirt from the new hole to cover the old hole. So now there are all of these mysterious pits and disturbed soil around the homesteads.
@johnwoa3 жыл бұрын
By the searchers discovering all this regarding the outhouses on the island, we can truly say that they are Number One in the "number two" business!
@steveapplegate45653 жыл бұрын
It should be obvious that the cobblestone road was built using ballast rock from ships. You can see the demarcation line between one ship's load and the next by the sudden change in size and type of the stones. This road was built not to take cargo onto the island, but off of it. Treasure may have been brought ashore over the course of centuries chest by chest, but it was offloaded all at once, probably in the 1700s, where ox-drawn carts and a road would have been needed. The elaborate series of tunnels and booby traps were also built after the fact. These devices were intended to convince people that the treasure is still there and is being protected. However, the existence of these traps would surely have prevented the owners of the treasure from retrieving their own property.

Do these people ever stop and wonder why someone would bury treasure and create all these complex booby traps around it. I know me personally if I had treasure I'm not going to bury it I'm going to use it it and become rich. Who would bury treasure and just walk away from it just doesn't make sense to me
@johnwoa3 жыл бұрын
@lou m Doesn't make sense??? Whatever was entombed deep beneath Oak Island in ancient times was never meant to be recovered. They know! That's the reason for the elaborate system of flood tunnels, the man-made "artificial" beach at Smith's Cove, the "backfilled" Money Pit ("originally a deep sinkhole") with the secured oak log platforms every ten feet, etc.... The fact is, the searchers up at Oak Island have a pretty good idea of what is buried there and what they are dealing with, but nobody's talking at this point because it would possibly solve the Oak Island mystery and this top-rated Number One History Channel show would end..... :(
