They didn't even made the translation right. They just translated word by word, with "le" instead of "the", but in french "le" is only for masculine words. There should be at least some "la" or just "l' " (for example 2:16 "le atterrissage" should be "l'atterrissage"), which proves it to be fake. On top of that, "atterrissage" is not a good translation for "landing", since atterrissage means that a plane landed. In french, when a boat lands on a coast, we say that it "accoster"

This map is one of the best discoveries, I’d love there to be more like this! Whatever they used Oak Island for they used it for hundreds of years for that purpose because there’s evidence of activity going on in different centuries. They kept coming back here for some reason, it definitely had an importance for the information to be carried on years and years down the line to come to this island for whatever reason.

I believe you. I don't trust anything I see on these supposed "legit" shows anymore. I just watched some Arctic Mermaid thing on the History channel, and in the very beginning there's a disclaimer that say's it's all phony. I know a lot of people will never read that, and even if they did wouldn't understand it. So it all slickly comes off looking like facts. It's despicable.

Interesting thoughts. Although this isn’t appearing to be an official French map more of a layman’s map maybe it could be one drawn from memory for a friend or colleague so maybe not in Latin ? Also I see what they mean about the e’s but only on the English translation where they probably did digitize the e for expediency. They look different paused at 2:29. If 1/10 of the theories have any substance to them the only treasure that’s left is the stuff nobody else could get because everyone knew it was there. But won’t the story be great? 😃

Hey History Channel. Along with Oak Island you need to do more research because a lot of it's going to lead you to Plymouth Massachusetts and one of the largest cemeteries there. There's some mystery surrounding the largest cemetery west of downtown Plymouth Massachusetts. There is rumor that the Mayflower, and its maiden voyage just tune from the European continent. Came to Plymouth, and some of those people we're Templars. Pass this information off to the team at Oak Island, I think you'll find it to be fascinating, because it is believed the Templars were all over New England. You stop by the first original Church in Plymouth Massachusetts, the cemetery behind it, and west of Plymouth the largest cemetery in the city. I love history and I love hearing about Hidden Treasures, and it makes me wonder if the movie National Treasure how true-to-life the movie might be food for thought

how to interprete the word hatch? Therefor you have to observe the architecture of medieval ice cellars. In fact a hatch it is a wooden door that blocks a descending hallway (tunnel) that leads to...the money pit

Just as old English evolved into Middle, and Modern. The French language did as well. This map should either be Latin or near the transition of old French to Middle French. 1347 marks the peaking of The Black Death (1347-1351) in Europe. Be careful with this source guys unless you know this and didn't want to get bogged down in minutia for this episode.

if there is a treasure every time you drill a hole and hit something important, you destroy everything just a little more. they had a good idea where the flood tunnels were located, perhaps if they started there and blocked them off them used all those fancy mapping systems to follow the flood tunnels to the main site it would have produced far better results.

The Zena map is 100% bogus, made by someone who had at best moderate understanding of French and access to a French-English dictionary. No doubt. A) Several letters are not written as they would have been if it predates the 1700's, the f for instance. B) The accents are all missing. The first e in chene, is actually the best tale. In the grammatical reform of the 1700's, oak would have been transformed from chesne to chêne, and the pronunciation would have shifted slightly. If the map were made prior to that reform, then chene would be either unintelligible or, at best, been confused with chains. C) la trappe is a recent construct to mean trap, or opening, in old French, it describes a place to catch animals. Putting faith in this map is equivalent to putting faith in a hand-drawn napkin with a TimHorton's logo on it.
