In this episode the intrepid treasure hunters have just discovered 2 significant finds. A button, possibly a military button from either a French or English soldier. What could be the significance of slovenly dressed military personnel is still to be determined but next the team has uncovered a very significant find. A piece of cast iron possibly from a grate. What more will be uncovered? The adrenaline is certainly pumping as the team keeps on searching. And searching. And searching. And sear....

This is another instance of Gary finding something that looks like it had already been dug or partially excavated then recovered for him to metal detect it (2:46). And the way the archaeologist picks it up makes me think she knew what it was there. She grabs it out of the ground and hands it to someone else without recording it seems very non-archeology like. I love the show and think there is something on the island, but don't stage things for us. I would like to see it as it happens.

Stopped watching this show after they found a sword-shaped brass fire-ornament, got told by staff at St Mary's that it was a brass fireplace poker and then drove home muttering about finding proof of the Romans. Now they've got an on-staff dude who drops hints about Romans non stop. "A fire grate. That kind of thing goes back to the Roman days" I mean why stop there? There's water all around the island. Romans drank water, they sailed on it... This kind of show is why we don't even have this channel in our house anymore.
