Hello, Pete. I am Gifford Agarwal. To answer the question you were asking at the end, I consider myself a middling player. I've played the game off and on for a couple of years, usually playing consistently for a couple of weeks and then not playing for a few weeks. Gifford Agarwal is obviously a young account, but even on my oldest, I think the highest I've ever climbed is about 26,000 rank points. To address some of your other remarks: I only allowed black to survive unblocked for as long as he did because I was counting on him to suicide into someone and it wouldn't be me because I was the only one not card blocking him; I had intended to kill purple all along but was going to leave him on three cards for as long as possible so that they get more valuable and would be there whenever I needed them (which you could argue was immediately, of course, but I was thinking about avoiding getting stuck on one card or whatever right after you traded a set); when purple traded his three, I thought about letting him get back up to three, but when you pressured that capital, I didn't think that was a realistic plan.

Hey Gifford Agarwal, you played great. This is definitely one of those games that you can write off to card luck/oppponent luck. The biggest influence in a Risk game isn't what you do but what the player before you does.

The way you played, plus the way you explained the way you played, I don't think we should be considering ourselves middling. GG bro, I'm glad everything went the way it went this game because it made for a fun show.

Thanks! I would also like you to know that even though you couldn't see it, I actually _was_ trying to affect the board. I know there is no malice when in your remarks about me being an "opportunist" and it made me laugh because what you can't see are all the games I've _lost_ because I tried too hard to avoid a stalemate. I _did_ card block black but it was in Russia where you couldn't see because I was also kill guarding him there. I thought about attacking black though Britain, but then I oopsied by taking territory in Germany and then you sandwiched my way through between your capital and a giant army you were using to besiege black. I also thought about screwing purple. When I attacked through you in the middle, that wasn't retaliatory or aggressive. I was checking how many troops purple had on the Istanbul capital. I _thought_ it wouldn't be much because I knew he had a presence in Britain, too, but that was obviously wrong. Then purple hit black and you hit purple, and I was like, "Well no point in thinking about it now." Anyway, I agree that it was a fun game. I literally lol'd watching this video when you freaked out that I was giving purple cards. At no point did I consider giving a capital to purple. He was just a card petri dish at that point. It's just unfortunate that you ran out of time to play. It would have been a great 1v1.

We could see you starting to think of card blocking Pete at one point and from my perspective I thought at one point you could have slammed Pete from 3 different castles and ended this

Oh and the Istanbul cap was easily card blocked, so when he abandoned his cap in the middle and left just 1 ones on it and had to many troops up on Iceland, then would have been a good time to take those 2 and card block him.

White seems like one of those players that always neighbor caps to screw the other player and make them quit or steal from a new player who doesn’t defend properly. Thats the strategy. I also seem to see a lot of expert, master players cap behind peoples caps in pockets for the same reason, and it unfortunately works. The other players are just like screw this I’ll just start another game.
@desyncer
@desyncer 5 ай бұрын
You do see it happen but the majority of the time that I see someone pocket cap behind a choke, they get smacked off of the rest of the board then get to trade cards with the player choking them off until they decide to knock you out of the game for your cards.

Last time I made a comment saying that Pete’s neighbor should hit his cap, and everyone told me it’s bad because 13v5 caps is a bad roll. This time Pete rolled 12v5 cap and everyone is happy

Let's be clear, me rolling white's cap was not a good move. It was a punishing move because capping next to me ruins my game so I'll ruin theirs. I was happy to lose and move on to the next one.
@desyncer
@desyncer 5 ай бұрын
I'm the guy that commented last time saying it's super risky but I do it anyways. I looked back at the video "Win the Coin Flip Win the War?" and agree with you that maybe Magenta should have rolled the 13v5. I nearly always slam neighbor caps as a matter of principle.
@nabedane
@nabedane 3 ай бұрын
@FreePete slamming neighbor caps is always such a tough choice imo. When they go right after you and you get a bad roll, you're more likely to ruin your own game than theirs and you always say to don't pitch quit when getting bullied by someone because you'd only make them stronger. So what I try to do is making sure I finish above them. Card block them. Don't let them hold a bonus forever and eventually slam them when my chances of killing / feeding their kill are high enough. Your options were limited here because card blocking white would have been impossible and there was a good chance they would very you to the pocket. I think I would have noob slammed them too round 1. Worst case scenario you both lose your cap there's no way white can hold 2 weak caps turn 2 even if you get bad dice. In short, I liked your decision. Long term though whites neighbor cap certainly weakened your chances of winning because it's just a terrible useless cap you need to kind of defend..

Black should have just taken your cap and full stacked on it, and tried to negotiate over germany/scandi to you since it is a vastly better cap than his other 2, and you really couldn't retake since purple and red would outgrow if you two fight to attrition.

What about Europe Advanced Progressive Zambo's? Can zombies be a thing? My 1st time playing was in kpo2 and found the settings cool. Can they work in ranked? Zambo's kinda filter out some noobery but there's the uncertainty of infection if someones snowballing. What's the best map for some honeypot zombies? 🤣 A bit variety is always good I guess 🤷

I gotta say, I enjoy your vids more when you're live even if you get stream sniped. You gotta do what you enjoy, though, but this kind of stuff happens anyway. Couldn't you just play games without fog live to remove advantage from stream sniping? You might get players who target you just to "Kill Pete" but you would also get players who show you favor for the "streamers advantage" that would help to balance that.
