I have such a short attention span. I saw one of his videos and I watched it. It was a good 25 minutes long. I watched the entire length of the video and I felt like I was there beside him as he told his story about one of his ant colonies. I wish I had a quarter of his public speaking, story-telling abilities. :) I fell in love with this channel and I appreciate his dedication. As a video maker myself (as a job), it takes a considerable amount of time to create a video, let alone a video that captured my attention for 25 minutes. :)

I think calling them "The Fae", as in the other word for fairies, might be fitting for such a cute small colony. Their genus Pheidole already sounds the same to Fae too. Also while looking up information on the origins of the word Fae I came across this little tidbit: "In Old French romance, a faie or fee was a woman skilled in magic, and who knew the power and virtue of words, of stones, and of herbs," which reminded me of the way these little ladies traverse their land coexisting symbiotically with their new home and its other inhabitants.

I started realizing how amazing ants are when (I think) National Geographic or NatGeo put out the AntCam. Ground level with the Ants doing what they do, going where they go and it was amazing! When you said you were doing a floating island, I thought you would do it with magnets. Check it out, google "floating magnets" or something like that. You may be able to create a REAL FLOATING ISLAND

I've never had a big interest in ants and found the channel yesterday by clicking on a fish video sent to me by a friend. After clicking through other recommendations I've got to the video "fire ants vs simulated river jungle" ... It got me so interested in ants that I started to watch the following videos until I decided to skip back to find out about the history of all those ants. After many hours and a youtube history with 12 pages of ants videos, I finally came to the end and watched the most recent video... Just to hear you mentioning, that you made a complete playlist ... I had to click manually through the videos, because youtube recommended videos out of order and skipped many. I doubt that you find my comment out of the 14.000 already posted, but if you see it by chance, I want to let you know that your love and enthusiasm really jumped over. The hive intelligence already impressed me before, but never enough to actually catch an interest. With your videos I realized how much I underestimated ants and also other insects like springtails. My view is completly shifted after this marathon. I can't stop thinking about going out and find my own queen to let her build a kingdom in my house. After some google search, it seems like the season for mating was just 2 month ago for the common ants in my region. But I guess thats for the better, since I lack the money to build something that I feel is good enough for this majestic creatures. PS: The titans were my favorite.. so I hope that they will come back. But after all this I doubt that they will come back
