I literally watched that movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" last night, for the first time in my 57 years on Earth. I watched Charlton Heston's "Ben Hur" on Easter. We don't have cable TV, only internet, all of the free streaming channels out there, and we do pay for Netflix alone. Last time I went to the theater was to see Godzilla Minus One, before that was the first Captain Marvel film, which was the last straw for me and Hollywood films. I'm going back to watching Japanese anime, and American films and shows from the past that I never got around to seeing. I have more than enough to keep me busy for the rest of my life.

My family and I love Goggins, so we watch Justified. Now we're on The Shield. These were network shows and they were great!

Agreed. Godzilla Minus One is terrific and it was made on a tiny budget of $15m against $300m for Hollywood equivalent movies. It should have been nominated for Best Picture. Disney should open a movie studio in Japan, if the Japanese want them that is. It’s interesting to note that on KZbin young Americans (all genders) are watching & reviewing Lawrence of Arabia, LA Confidential, Taxi Driver to name a few.

@@dcoughla681 I thought a film not forwarded for Best International Film by a nation could not be nominated for Best Picture, but it happened for Letters for Iwo Jima (2006) and The White Ribbon (2009). Therefore, GM1 could have been nominated.

Disney INVENTED the multi-plane camera to make their 2-D hand drawn animation feel three dimensional….to put depth into a flat drawing animation. So they have all this newer technology that cannot give anywhere near the same quality of three dimensionality of decades odd technology. Great way to celebrate 100 years…..

I think Wish should be made by ILM or any other VFX vendor. I am sure they would care more about Disney legacy than Jen Lee or Disney itself. Also it would be perfect commentary for current state of Disney at its 100 birthday.

@@qnebra the important thing is Disney animation is 50% women; because of that it has to be good and if you don’t like it, then you are a misogynist. And some of those animators are black, so that also makes you a racist. Worse, yet, some of them are trans, so now you’re also a trans. And if any of them are well, you’re just the worst person on earth, so buy a ticket, sit down, watch the movie and paste a phony smile on your face. Cuz The Bon Iger Company is all about inclusion (unless you are a white male Christian).

Couldn't help but think of Tangled, and how well Disney at the time was able to pull off 3d animation with the 2D influence, and yet Wish came out like that after over 10 years Tangled was released? If Walt was alive, he would have been devastated.

One of the things that an animator would notice that Alan hasn't mentioned is POSING. One of the biggest rules animators know is that you should be able to freeze almost any frame and it should be a clear pose with a beautiful silhouette. Wish NEVER has that.

About wondercon,I cancelled and got my hotel deposit back after seeing the released schedule, nada studio presence and was warned the dealers where not the same as before. Plus Biden economics and the cost of everything,definitley not worth it. Saved $1,200 on hotel,food,trvel etc. Sad times. Hopefully it will return to how it used to be.

My girlfriend and I have mostly been watching japanese Anime on crunchy roll for the last 6 months. Would recommend that everyone check out Solo Leveling and Chainsaw Man.
