What an amazing and supporting father, she's come through so much and she has a really great and supporting father. Good job Arthur, your daughter is going to grow into an amazing woman who can inspire people like myself to help break the stereotype of disability and help others like Carly who want to achieve their dreams and goals

This didn't age well. His boyfriend SAed her and literally as soon as she said that all her social media accounts went dark. That was 4 years ago and nothing from her sense- its kind of crazy

I have known Carly's story for years. I have passed on her video hundreds of times to different medical professionals and families wrapped up in difficult situations with special needs children. I think she is inspirational and very gutsy! But I have to say that your strength blows my mind! I don't have any special needs children... Yet with my " normal "children I have had so many challenges in so many days when I did not know what to do. You Are an example. Thank you to you and Carly for all this new information!

As a mother to 6 year old on the spectrum, I found this video very informational. When my son was 3 and still not talking, I let him have the IPAD, whenever he wanted. Supplemented with reading books to him and and always talking to him, we opened the door for language. Nowadays the KZbin toddler videos are very fun and educational so I ignored limited screen time and directed him towards nursery rhymes that helped him learn to read. Once he started reading, his language exploded. It was mostly scripting then but now he is starting to form simple sentences. And like Carly, I am amazed by his sense of humor and intelligence, not just ability to memorize.

+Diane Dunn They are Canadians. They have universal health care there and her medical, psychological, and therapy needs etc are covered by the government. If it was here in the USA, you would be correct - they would have been borked.

So glad carly was born into exactly your family. Understand it was very hard at times. You saved her from being trapped in her body alone, not able to express her amazing self. She's incredible! She teaches us so much so many have wondered about. My daughter too. I always wondered why she død things she knew bodered people arround her. I thoght she didn't care about me and othdbecause I told her, and she did it anyway. I didn't understand she was on the spectrum. I hoped she hadde ADD or Adhd... but I learned about Asbergers first, then Autism. First they said she had opposisjonell behavior disorder,( I don't know if I translated it right.) I knew they got her wrong. I tried to get help, unfortunately I can't afford anything but barely monthly bills, so I can't get help for her /us without they first diagnosing her. Doesn't help me going to learn how to jently give messages (😔) I tried every method I know. That's not the problem. She speaks and looks very normal, only I and the teachers and some few understands how much she struggles with. Hopefully, after this new round, they see shes autistic, high functioning, but still, her life is hard because of everything that scares her from dolls to noises, especially tractors, to crauds of people, to dogs, the dark, elevators, subeays, train bridges, bridges, heights, closed doors, being alone... Also she s sosialey awkward, eye contact, very into her data or whatever she's doing and it's very hard to get her to follow instructions. She gets overwhelmed.. Acts out. And she s very hard to dress. She wants the same type clothes, no matter weather and gets panic attacks if she gets to warm. When comes home, she screams like, it sounds like someone's torturing her. Nothing I do, calms her. She wants to be left alone, but not alone. It's heartbreaking not to touch her or hug her and on top, the naighbours thinks I abuse her. They ask why they here screaming, and I m scared child protective or police gets called. Strange it hasn't yet... She is an amazing girl. We are very close, she has also humor and are funny and very good at art and drawing. Just so hard to see her struggle and I m devastated for the center, not to see she's autistic. Took me time, but I m sure. She doesn't fit all the criteria, tho, but everyone is individual and different. She has gestures, they say that's not autistic and she smiles when talking ( but only to people she trusts) And she doesn't talk all monotome, she didn't have those hand movements as a child, as I can remember, even tho she makes banging noises and repete noises and sounds and banging... Why don't they see all the other things she does... If anyone agrees with me, I need advice.. Just am so impressed about what Carly talks about why she does things and what she and her family teach others in similar situations. Wish everyone could learn about autism and read the book and your videos. Definitely you open peoples eyes. Thank you! 🌸❤🌸

Carly even admitted in her book that when she gets angry she will make things up. There are behavioral issues that come along with some of her problems. My own son falsely accused someone and we didn't know until he told us years later that it never happened. Believing them is crucial, but we do have to accept that sometimes people with certain issues and even people who don't have those issues can and do lie.
